Hailing from the Jane and Finch in Toronto, Dream Warriors (King Lu & Q) were formed in 1988. They were major contributors to the jazz rap movement of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Their debut album, 1991’s “And Now the Legacy Begins” is still considered one of the finest alternative hip-hop albums of the golden era. The album was critically acclaimed and certified gold in Canada. The album spawned the hit singles “Wash Your Face in My Sink”, “My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style”, and “Ludi”. The first two singles hit the Top 20 in the UK, selling close to one million records Worldwide.
Dream Warriors remained the #1 selling Canadian HipHop group worldwide for almost two decades. They are currently celebrating their 25th anniversary with Universal Music unleashing a worldwide campaign consisting of digital albums, along with vinyl LP’s and 7” vinyl singles to celebrate this iconic Canadian group.
