Hoping to post a video this week. Our son has greatly improved (for now, sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel ends up being a freight train) but praise God he is having some level of relief from his seizures. I hope to see y’all soon!

We have reached level 8 on the Oregon Trail: Hurricane edition. I attempted to cancel my 7 day free trial for the Off-Grid lifestyle but they charged me anyway.
Our power is projected to be restored around midnight on Monday. We are doing well. We have a generator and we’ve been able to get internet by plugging our router into it. That has been helpful. But we also can’t charge any computers on it because it is not an inverter, so I’m unable to telework. Very frustrating. I miss the routines of work and my day job. But I am thankful for the temporary bursts of internet as we try to also conserve fuel and keep freezers frozen. Without it we have no cell service at our home and no line to the outside.
Please pray for our kids.
Our oldest son took a fall on his bike and had a very close call. He narrowly missed his femoral artery with a puncture and ended up with only 3 stitches. We barely made it to the only urgent care in town that was open, praise the Lord, and he is on the mend. Please pray that he could continue to heal and rest.
I had intended to share last week that our middle son was diagnosed with epilepsy last week. He had a grand mal seizure a few weeks ago and an EEG confirmed it last week just before the hurricane hit. Thankfully we were able to get his medication filled. The stress of no power and the departure from all of our routines is really impacting his autism. We are seeing the outward signs of that and he has been experiencing things that are more like tics, but because of the epilepsy could also be split second seizures. He has a follow up in a few days with the neurologist. Please pray for that appointment.
Our youngest son needs to be doing something all the time and greatly benefits from routines, which we have none of that make much sense lately, and it’s honestly too dangerous for him to help my husband cut trees as work outside. Please pray for his creativity to find a positive outlet and contentment.
As you can see in the picture Gunner is living his best life with all of his humans at home to snuggle with.
Please pray that our power would be restored along with the rest of our town. They are working so hard and about half our county has received power back, but there was so much damage they are basically rebuilding the power grid.
As we are getting more and more news about the other areas affected by this I am so saddened to hear of the devastation in the South East this has caused. May God comfort those who are suffering and mourning. He is the only comfort in life or death.
We have seen God move in some mighty ways and we are so grateful for his provision. Even if we had to go another week without power we know that it is his good will for us and that we can move forward in his strength. He is so so merciful.

I had intended to post a video this month, but Helene had other plans. We were hit pretty hard in our area. This is the worst damage our county has ever experienced from a storm. We will hopefully have power back Saturday (which will be 8 days without power) and I can’t wait to share with you how minimalism has gone with (at this point) 4 days without power.
