Vidushi Bagyalakshmi Chandrasekhar, hailing from a music-loving family, was initiated into Carnatic Vocal Music at the tender age of six and Veena at the age of nine, under the tutelage of Guru Shri.Mudikondan Narayanaswamy Ayyar (disciple of Sangeeta Kalanidhi Shri Mudikondan Venkatarama Ayyar and Kumbakonam Shri Rajamani Shastrigal).

She is an artiste who established herself with firm conviction in tradition coupled with an aptitude for integrating innovative and interesting aspects of music into her rendition. She received appreciation for her mature, chaste, and soothing rendition with a fine blend of Sahitya bhava, with the gayaki’s style of playing this instrument.
