One can pray to Lord Narasimha Dev on this auspicious day to guide all of us just like he guided Sri Prahalad to give us association of His pure devotee in whose shelter we may be masterfully guided to finally attain His Divine Lotus Feet.

Katha:
The Lord appeared in a half-man, half-lion form from a pillar, as Prahalad maharaj believed his lord is present everywhere even in non living, & to prove his devotee’s faith / word he appeared in a form which is neither a human being nor an animal. He fought with Hiranyakashipu, and when the evening approached, the Lord threw the demon on His lap and killed him by piercing his abdomen with His sharp nails. Hiranyakashipu was killed in the evening (neither day nor night), in the doorway of the assembly hall (neither inside nor outside), and neither on the land nor in the sky. Furthermore, the Lord did not use any weapon.

Thus, the Lord easily killed Hiranyakashipu and protected His devotee Prahlada without violating any of the benedictions awarded by Lord Brahma to the demon.

Gaura Purnima is the celebration of most auspicious and adorable advent of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu – The Golden Avatara. The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna, with the serving mood of Srimati Radharani, appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to establish Sankirtana Movement – the yuga dharma for this age of Kali. He appeared on the full moon day in the month of Phalguna in the year 1486 AD at Sridham Mayapur.
