Huge Congratulations to Ellie who smashed her driving test earlier with 3 tiny driver faults!

Great commitment to it all, put in so much hard work despite a few setbacks and got the result she deserved today!

Enjoy your amazing Toyota and see you on the roads!

In one week students of the Pathfinder Initiative achieve the essential driving competence, attitudes, and understanding to become safe drivers. Uniquely, Pathfinder is for students aged between 15-17 and their guardians.

Pathfinder are the only (pre-licence) under 17 driver training organisation whose training programme is accredited by IAMRoadsmart.

Following their proven approach over 5 days the students will learn about and practice:

- Core Driving Skills
- Driving and Road Safety Theory
- Dealing with Peer Pressure
- Road Risk and Safety Practise
- Advanced Driving Appreciation
- Essential Car Control
- Manoeuvring
- Brake and Avoid
- Speed Awareness

Pathfinder encourage and enable students to drive a range of vehicles so that they gain an appreciation of how other cars perform, and how other motorists may act on the road.

Their next course runs fairly locally at Seighford, near Stafford for five days during October Half Term. The course runs daily from 08:30 until 16:00 from 28th October to 1st November 2024.

If you live in Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire or Worcestershire you can take part in this course at Seighford for just £240! Pay £60 deposit now and £180 remainder before the event.

Head over to under17driver.co.uk/ for all the information!

TRENCH LOCK GYRATORY ROUNDABOUT;

This can be a very confusing road system for learners and full license holders alike and it's pretty easy to end up in the wrong lane. I've attached a diagram of the road system below alongside the link to my Trench Lock playlist of tutorial videos.

Hope it helps!

Everyone seeing the Northern Lights outside their house last night and I'm seeing the aftermath of a police car chase. The car being chased smashed into the barriers at the end of my street and decamped... All for some cannabis apparently.

Welcome to Telford...

Afternoon all - quick update...

The earliest available Practical Driving Test in Telford is...

12TH MARCH 2025 😮😮😮

This is why it's imperative that theory tests are prioritised going forward. I can't see these waiting times getting any better for tests at the moment so the earlier we can plan the more the benefit.

Remember, we can't book a practical driving test until you have passed your theory test so if you are studying, waiting for a date or procrastinating, please do your best to make this your priority going forward.

Thanks!

I'd just like to thank everyone for their kind words in relation to my personal update yesterday. Your comments, messages and WhatsApp messages were hugely appreciated and I'm really grateful for them.

To business... It's a quiet time for driving tests at the moment but I have at least 9 students sitting their tests between now and the end of the year so a busy period to come.

These 20 awesome people below have already smashed their driving tests in 2024 and are out on the roads making Telford and England a little bit safer in the process. Hope you are all doing great and staying mega confident!

Hey all hope you've had a good week so far. Just wanted to check in with everyone on here, I've been taking some time from everything to clear my head, keep my head down, work and try and figure out what I'm doing next.

Today is a reset. On a lot of things. Things I should have addressed and dealt with a long time ago.

As some of you who know my personally and professionally know I have a habit of self sabotage in both work and personal life; I'm getting help for it and currently having therapy to address why it happens amongst other things. I did it with the good people at TFDrive and alienated myself from them, went about things the wrong way when I decided to leave and as a result have lost some good friends and colleagues in the process, I've done it with seemingly everything that's going good for me, for some reason I can never just settle or be happy with how things are going.

I also have been hiding behind my health a lot and letting it beat me into submission. While I definitely do have health issues that are ongoing and can affect my working hours, my mental standpoint on my health and not being able to push through and carry on definitely takes over and makes things way worse than it should be.

I let it "defeat" me far too easily, I've suffered with my health problems for well over 4 years now and it's exhausting; feeling ill or not quite right every single day in some shape or form really takes it toll on you after a while physically and mentally but I need to be much stronger going forward.

I know some students have gone to other instructors because of how things have been consistency wise with lessons over a prolonged period and I'm really sorry if you've been affected by all of this. I hope you have all managed to find instructors to get you going on the learning to drive experience and I apologise profusely for not being able to work with you.

I never wanted any of that to happen and I'm sorry if it's affected you guys in the process. Karma has caught up with me and I'm going to be potentially homeless in the next couple of months and looking at the prospect of moving back to my parent's house which, at the age of 36, is a bitter pill to swallow but I've brought it all on myself.

I am working through it all with therapy and I hope to be a better person and better instructor going forward. The last few weeks have been much more productive with lessons and I'm hoping this continues in the weeks and months to come. I've neglected my YouTube channel a lot recently as well but there is new content coming I promise, I've just not been feeling very motivated recently to keep at it.

My driving instructor badge is due for renewal at the start of 2025 and part of me a while ago wanted to just jack it all in because I'm sure my reputation is tarnished as a result of everything that's happened health wise and every decision I've made over the last couple of years. But deep down I love this job and I want to keep doing what I do and I hope that you all can accept me for who I am going forward.

I want to work and make this town a safer place to drive and I want to be a respected part of the instructing community in Telford and across the country, not some "problem case" that does what he can and can't deliver consistent teaching. That isn't going to be me anymore.

I don't really come on here very often but if any of you want to talk privately about anything please email me or message me on my Facebook page, I'm happy to discuss anything and, as I'm sure you can see from this post, I'm not hiding away from anything anymore.

Thank you all for still following my page and supporting my YouTube channel as well. I'm going to be the best I can be going forward. You have my word.
