Pumpkin Seed and Jerusalem Artichoke Cleanse Recipe
This recipe combines pumpkin seeds (antiparasitic due to cucurbitacin), Jerusalem artichokes (prebiotic for gut health), and blackstrap molasses (nutrient-dense, supports digestion) for a gentle cleanse smoothie.

#### Ingredients
- 1/2 cup raw, hulled pumpkin seeds (soaked overnight in filtered water to reduce phytic acid)
- 1 medium Jerusalem artichoke (sunchoke) (about 1/2 cup when peeled and chopped, prebiotic fiber to feed beneficial gut bacteria)
- 1 tablespoon unsulphured blackstrap molasses (rich in iron, magnesium, potassium; enhances flavor and supports digestion)
- 1 cup organic coconut milk (aids in expelling parasites, adds creaminess)
- 1/2 cup filtered water (to adjust consistency)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon ground ginger or turmeric (anti-inflammatory, supports digestion; replace wormwood from previous recipe for safety)
- Optional: 1 tablespoon castor oil (taken separately as a laxative to flush parasites, use with caution)

#### Instructions
1. Prepare Pumpkin Seeds: Soak 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds in filtered water overnight to remove anti-nutrients. Drain and rinse well.
2. Prepare Jerusalem Artichoke: Scrub the sunchoke thoroughly under running water to remove dirt. Peel if desired (skin is edible but may be tough). Chop into small pieces to blend easily.
3. Blend Mixture: In a blender, combine soaked pumpkin seeds, chopped Jerusalem artichoke, 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses, 1 cup coconut milk, and 1/2 cup water. Add optional ginger or turmeric for extra digestive support. Blend until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
4. Consume: Drink on an empty stomach in the morning for optimal absorption. Chew any remaining seed particles to maximize cucurbitacin release.
5. Optional Laxative: After 1-2 hours, take 1 tablespoon castor oil mixed with water or juice to help expel parasites, if desired. Stay hydrated and near a restroom.
6. Duration: Follow for 7-10 days, then take a 5-day break. Repeat only under medical guidance to avoid digestive upset from Jerusalem artichoke’s inulin, which can cause bloating if overconsumed.

#### Notes
- Jerusalem Artichoke: High in inulin, it promotes beneficial gut bacteria but may cause gas or bloating in some people. Start with a small amount (1/4 cup) and increase gradually. Source fresh sunchokes from markets or grocery stores; they resemble ginger root.
- Pumpkin Seeds: Contain cucurbitacin, which may paralyze intestinal worms, aiding their expulsion. Use raw, hulled seeds for easier digestion.
- Molasses: Unsulphured blackstrap molasses is nutrient-dense and supports microbial health. Avoid sulphured molasses, as it may harm gut flora.
- Safety: Jerusalem artichokes are generally safe but can cause digestive discomfort if eaten in large amounts. Avoid this cleanse if you have gallbladder issues or are sensitive to high-fiber foods. Consult a doctor, especially if using castor oil or suspecting parasites.
- Storage: Prepare fresh daily for best results. Store extra sunchokes in a cool, dry place for up to a month.

#### Why This Works
- Pumpkin Seeds: May help eliminate parasites by paralyzing them, making them easier to flush out.
- Jerusalem Artichoke: Acts as a prebiotic, supporting gut flora and aiding detoxification through improved digestion.
- Molasses: Provides minerals and sugars to nourish gut microbes, enhancing the cleanse’s effectiveness.
