in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
I’m doing a small drop of these this Sunday at 12pm pst. I’m only making 12.
Each tumbler is marked with the date that it was thrown on and has its own individual number (001, 002, 003, 012).
For more details, check out r3hpots.com.
I’m in the process of making a YouTube tutorial on how to make one from start to finish, so stay tuned for that!

Fragile, please be gentle 🖤
These mugs were suppose to go out mid August and arrive to everyone by end of August… but it is now September.
I am SO sorry for the delay, but am so so happy these are finally going out to everyone!!!
Also I know I said I was going to make a long format video of me making my packaging but decided these photos should do the trick!
For my notecard, I traced out all 105 mugs and combined them all together on one side, and the other side is left blank for a hand written note.
I also decided to include a branded coaster because I thought it was fitting.
If anyone has any issues with your order, please message me. 🙌🏽

(I’ve only been updating everyone on YouTube but thought I’d share this update post from Instagram here as well)
Hi everyone, it’s me (:
It’s been a while since I’ve last posted on here so I thought I would give everyone an update.
I started making my orders in June and realized after making 40 mugs that they were all too small…
So in July, after some math, I remade them all. On Wednesday, I picked them up from the final glaze firing at Seattle Pottery Supply and am finally getting to ship them out today.
I’m also moving to a new state! I’ll make a separate post on that later.

Hi friends! Small small update ☺️
Here are 42 mugs remade a bit bigger to hold ~12 ounces. The last one was completed on July 21st and they have since been covered to slow dry. I took them out of the plastic yesterday and will be taking them to get fired sometime this week since there’s a few that need to be bone dry.
Figuring out the new proper dimensions actually took a few hours. I will try my best to explain 😅
I started with the equation of figuring out the wet dimensions from the fired dimensions of the English Grolleg mug that was 10 ounces or 2 ounces too small.
Wet Dimensions = Fired Dimensions/(1-Shrink Rate)
And then I thought I could scale those wet dimensions by a factor of 1.2 (since 12 ounces/10 ounces). But those numbers came out really really big.. like I would have throw the base of the mug unusually super wide.
I was extremely confused and tried to rework the numbers for a good two hours but the dimensions were so big that it was hard to believe I’d actually have to throw so much bigger.
So I called my friend and he told me in a matter of 2 minutes that I can’t scale the dimensions of the mug to get the right fired dimensions WHILE getting a 12 ounce mug BECAUSE volume isn’t linear!!! 😲😀🤦🏽♀️ Oops.
Then he did some extreme math by finding the volume of a truncated cone and helped me find approximate wet dimensions for my new mug. Hopefully the photos help aid everything I just said 😂
On another note, I started halfway to editing my long form YouTube video on designing the packaging for these mugs. I told Ellen that I would post it in a few weeks but then the whole mugs are too small thing happened and… yeah I am now starting to come back to it!
Anyways, thank you for reading this update 🖤
More updates/videos to come once these guys are all fired (:

Update - I messed up and I'm starting over.
I sent this out as an email to everyone who ordered before June, but thought I would leave it here as well to keep everyone updated.
During the month of June, I made 40 mugs of my mug orders. All there was left is to be bisque fired, glazed, glazed fired, and shipped (the easier parts of this process imo). I had four come out of a glaze fire and another 13 of them bisque firing away at the time I write this email.
Today, I found that I need to redo them all.
When I initially tested out English Grolleg, I mentioned in English Grolleg video caption that I need to adjust my measurements as this clay does shrink quite a bit. Well.. I did not adjust my measurements for any of the 40 mugs. They are two ounces too small.
The only way I have decided to solve this, is by remaking all of them. It does not feel right shipping out mugs that I am not proud of; especially when the right amount of liquid was something that was a huge focus of my 100 mug journey.
Which means.. the mugs are going to be delayed a month (end of August). I honestly feel really bad about delaying this, as most of you ordered this mug in January, but I feel in the end this is the right thing to do. I know some of you are anxiously waiting for your mug and I am anxiously wanting to give them to you because I'm really excited for you guys to experience what it's like using them.. But they're just too small.
I included some photos to share:
- 17 mugs drying to be bisque fired
- Mug #034, bone dry (before any firing) and too small
- Mug #004, a beautiful glazed mug that I thought was ready to be shipped, but the one that made me realize that I messed up on all of them. It only contains 10 ounces.
- Mug #004's stamp
I apologize for the delay, but I promise the wait will be worth it.
Thank you,
Rachel

A little photo update:
These are what the bottom of the mugs are looking like. I spent a good amount of time in May trying to figure out how to make the bottoms look better than just my handwriting and also figuring out the technique of it all. This is stamped and filled in with AMACO Velvet in black. Perhaps I’ll make a video on it soon.
Anyways, this is mug #032 that I threw on the 22nd of June and trimmed + handled on the 25th. I checked on the dryness of the mug today since a slow dry (fully covered in plastic) lowers the probability of anything cracking; especially when working with porcelain.
Should be ready to come out of the plastic next week and then it’ll air dry and then get bisque fired. ☺️
Thank you for being patient everyone. I hope to start making and posting videos again soon, but really want to stay focused on these mug orders first. 🖤
