Friends... I think it's time we had a chat.
As someone who values sustainability and innovation, l've always admired Tesla's mission. But after Elon's recent actions and the lack of a public stance from the company, l'm deeply disappointed. It's hard to ignore the patterns we're seeing as certain power structures take shape, and we KNOW that history is prone to repeating itself.
Silence and complicity (whether intentional or not) matter.
I understand that Tesla is a massive company, and there's a lot of complexity and probably red tape involved in making a statement. But if a company won't take a stance on issues that matter so much, I can't continue to support it in the same way.
I'll still advocate for EVs and their environmental benefits, however I won't be continuing to talk much about Tesla specifically.
My car is paid off, so what's done is done there…but when I can afford to switch into something else, that is absolutely the plan. l will also be voting with my dollar by avoiding the Tesla superchargers going forward.
The good news is there are plenty of other incredible EV and charging options (like Flo and BC Hydro for my fellow BC folks) which I'll be switching to going forward.
We all have a choice in where we put our money, and I believe that the choices we make have impact. Tesla is great in many ways, but in this moment, my dollar will reflect my values.

Home sweet home🚗🏠❤️
It's so wild to think that this little car is has been home for almost 2 years already! (Our official anniversary is coming up!)
My Model Y Roxanne has 109,730km today and is still my favorite car ever 🥹
To be honest, I'm starting to daydream about having a little more space (I would love a high top van so that I can stand up!), and also something with better clearance for my forestry road adventures...
…but I can't quite convince myself that I'm ready to move out of Roxanne yet, either!
My favorite things?
💰I save wild amounts of money on gas (and charging, since I can usually still find spots that are completely free. My last paid charge was back in April!!)
💃🏼I don't have a car payment, and at this point my goal is to have as few reoccurring bills as possible! I definitely don't get excited about the idea of a new vehicle payment🤭
🐶I know I talk about this all the time, but seriously, DOGMODE is a game changer for me! Since my pets are with me 100% of the time, having somewhere climate controlled for the moments I need to leave them alone is absolutely essential. Being able to monitor them from my phone gives me so much peace of mind as well!
⛺️Similar to DOGMODE, CAMPMODE allows me to run the car pretty indefinitely! That means reliable heat in the winter (we've camped well into the -30c range) and dependable AC in the summer. Since running the climate only uses about 1% of the battery per hour, it's not something l ever worry about
🛜Roxanne has her own data plan, and sometimes the reception is even better than what i get on my phone That means I can often stream Spotify or watch YouTube at camp!
🚗 As far as the Tesla itself, this thing is a freaking beast of a machine! I know they get a lot of hate (I'm from Alberta- believe me, l've heard it all 🫣) but l've taken her places I never would have expected I could, through weather that some say isn't possible, and genuinely had a better driving experience than in anything else I have before! She's been incredibly reliable, and honestly the idea of not driving this car brings me to tears when I think about swapping vehicles 🤭❤️

Hi friends, I’m Stephanie!
I’m a Canadian gal on the adventure of a lifetime, tiny living on the road with BOTH of my pets- Snow and Finley 🐕🐈⬛
Our little trio has lived in a Tesla Model Y (Roxanne 🥹) for the past few years, and we had so much fun with her!! We trekked up and down the west coast multiple times, putting nearly 130,000km on the car and exploring 11 states and 3 provinces along the way!
At this point however, it feels like it’s time for me to choose a new adventure vehicle that feels more aligned with my values (living with empathy and kindness to all, and doing so with LOVE!)✨
So… I BOUGHT A VAN! She’s a 2006 Dodge Sprinter named RoxVanne, and I just completed a big renovation to bring my vanlife vision to life at last. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next!
Subscribe to join us on our adventure- I truly don’t know what our next plans are yet, but I’m excited to bring you along for ride! 💕🇨🇦
