I'd like to share with you a taste of the blues from last weekend's beautiful blues concert with Kerry B Ryan & Rupert Guenther at The Old Court House in York, Western Australia. It was a perfect night under the stars in the big courtyard with a lot of early and pre-war blues, all acoustic and stripped back just like it was in the day. Enjoy.
When you are touring and need to keep your practice up, hotel car parks can be your new friend. No complaints from guest rooms, mostly you have the place to yourself, and the bonus of a naturally occurring super reverb provided free in-house!
Here's some early morning friends catching up outside the back door yesterday. Nature is awesome. Enjoy.
This is a really exciting development with the Cosmology Concert. Starting in 2017 as an instrumental only, in 2020 I performed it with an added narration. Now at the WA Museum Boorla Bardip in Perth this week sees the premiere of the full work with music, narration and stunning astrophotography on large screen projection. Looking forward to seeing some of you there this Thursday for the concert!
A nice encounter on a summer's day at my violin repairer's place on the west coast here. I love these birds, they carry a quietness about them, an inner focus beyond the phenomena of the world.
This was a really hot day this week here in Western Australia, where our summer often has weeks of around 40*C. One of our alpacas couldn't resist playing with the water to cool off!
