I prefer providing updates in this Community function instead of backloading it into a video, so I wanted to post here given the latest success of my recent video.
Thank you all. So much.
I officially got monetized in the middle of the night – after almost six years of doing this YouTube stuff (with some pretty big breaks in there). This was a goal of mine, just to prove to myself that I could do it.
And we did it.
It’s been totally validating to see such support over the past week, but also shout-out to all those who signed up to this Quest Marker in late 2018. All of it has been re-energizing and re-invigorating to keep creating.
That’s exactly what I plan on doing! I have a lot of great ideas (I think) in the pipeline so stay tuned. I know I promised to do a 1k retrospective at some point in 2024, but I think we might hold out on it for now until we reach the next big milestone.
I’ve tried to respond to as many comments as I can in my “A World Not Desperate to Explain Itself” video, but please do keep them coming even if I might be delayed. I’m going to try to stop checking YouTube a million times a day and start making more stuff.
I’m always open to suggestions, so just shout if there are ever themes, games, or topics you would want to see me cover in the future. And I hope you’ve found my stuff entertaining, and hopefully nudging you to think about things a little differently or asking yourself a new question. I only really enjoy making videos that make me do the same, that teach me something new – I think that’s why I continue to do this.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to provide a quick update.
I reached 1000 subscribers at the end of 2023, and am wanting to do a mini-retrospective of this channel. I have an outline drafted, but was wanting to poll all y'all if there was any topic, idea, or whatever you'd want to see addressed.
Leave a comment! ...and if you ever have an idea for a video you'd like to see from me, or review you'd want me to do, leave those too! I got a box of video ideas I'm always adding to.

Hey everyone - Christmas (Santa) came early for this wee channel here.
After just over 5 long years, I've reached the 1000 subscribers milestone! Thank you all so much for your support and feedback and discussion over the years. It means a lot and keeps me motivated.
If I could give you all some permanent YouTube badge to mark you as the First 1000 I totally would. Instead, I'll build out some Excel sheet somewhere and try to figure out some laborious manual way of doing so.
I'm in the midst of another video, which doesn't acknowledge this new awesome milestone so I wanted to make a post - to get your input on the classic "subscriber milestone" video. I've laid out some options below, because I want it to be decided by you!
Leave a comment if you have a clear idea. Or are hear to say Q&A's are the best and Retrospectives suck and anyone who votes for that is a dummy. Or vice-versa.
I'll bring this up in my next-next video again, until I can get a vibe of what you First 1000 think best.

Hi everyone - I think the autumn months are a curse. I made a similar post almost a year ago. I've had a lot going on in life, it's been awhile since I've done anything meaningful.
I am constantly writing for the channel - but sadly, scripts don't mean much! Know, however, I'm still plugging away. I still have so many ideas I want to share and discuss.
We just got to 800 subscribers - woo! I'll see you all soon.

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to give a note as we creep closer to the "hasn't uploaded in 6 months." My life in latter half of 2021 has been a real whirlwind.
I am still actively working on the next video - the next script - the next series. It's unfair to you (or me) about promising a timeline, just know that although I haven't uploaded new content - I am still very "active" behind-the-scenes.
Always feel free to make suggestions or reach out if you ever want talk the joy of games.
