Hey everyone,
I wanted to share some news with you. The recent video I made about the amazing photographer Danny Lyon has been taken down because of copyright issues with some of the images I used. My only intention was to celebrate and share his incredible work with you, but unfortunately it couldnโt stay on the channel.
I really appreciate your understanding, and Iโm grateful for your support as always. More videos are coming soon!
Best,
Joel Ulises

Great news, everyone! ๐
YouTube will soon start generating automatic audio tracks translated into the following languages: German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese. This means you'll be able to enjoy my videos in your own language!
However, theyโve told me that this feature wonโt apply to videos already online. It will only work for new videos uploaded after the feature becomes available. Iโll keep you all updated!

Robert Blomfield: Photographs of Edinburgh 1957 -1966
Robert Blomfieldโs most prolific phase came while he was studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh, a roughly 10-year period during which he produced some of his finest street photography. The Scottish capital still holds a special place in his heart, and Robert and his family are therefore delighted that his first book contains a collection of his favourite black-and-white pictures of โAuld Reekieโ, taken between 1957 and 1966.
Published by Bluecoat Press, this high quality 192 page coffee-table hardback offers a rare glimpse of postwar Scotland, and includes many of the images that were exhibited at his record-breaking show at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh: candid portraits and group shots, children playing amongst crumbling tenements, public gatherings, student life and the evolving urban landscape of the time.
Also included is an appendix of stories about some of the pictures, from people who recognised themselves and others at the CAC show. Their tales are told here for the first time.

Book of the day:
Diane Arbus Revelations
Revelations explores the origins, scope, and aspirations of Arbus's wholly original voice. Arbusโs frank treatment of her subjects and her faith in the intrinsic power of the medium have produced a body of work that is often shocking in its purity, in its steadfast celebration of things as they are.
Presenting many of her lesser-known or previously unpublished photographs in the context of the iconic images reveals a subtle yet persistent view of the world.
The book reproduces two hundred full-page duotones of Diane Arbus photographs spanning her entire career. It also includes a new contribution by Sarah Meister, executive director of Aperture, alongside essays by Sandra S.
Phillips, senior curator of photography, emeritus, at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and a discussion of Arbusโs printing techniques by Neil Selkirk, the only person authorized to print her photographs since her death.
An extensive chronology by Elisabeth Sussman, guest curator of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art show, and Doon Arbus, the artistโs eldest daughter, is illustrated by more than three hundred additional images and composed primarily of excerpts from the artistโs letters, notebooks, and other writings, amounting to a kind of autobiography.
An afterword by Doon Arbus precedes biographical entries on the photographerโs friends and colleagues, compiled by Jeff L. Rosenheim, curator in charge of the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. These texts help illuminate the meaning of Diane Arbusโs controversial and astonishing vision.

Hey everyone,
I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, I had to take down the video about Lee Miller. Due to copyright issues with the photos used in the video, I had no choice but to remove it. As much as I would love to keep it up, I currently canโt afford to pay for the rights to the images.
I hope you all understand my situation, and thank you so much for your continued support! Iโll keep working on bringing you new and exciting content in the future.
Best regards,
Joel Ulises

Book of the day:
Robert Doisneau. Paris
Robert Doisneau, a key figure of the Photographie humaniste movement of the 1950s, is renowned for his soulful portraits of Paris and his keen eye for capturing the beauty in everyday moments.
This extensive collection showcases his most beloved images alongside lesser-known works that celebrate "the ordinary gestures of ordinary people." Quotations from Doisneau throughout the book provide insight into his sensitivity, warmth, and humor.
The images transport us from the tough suburbs of his youth to the world of manual labor he admired, as well as to the studios of groundbreaking artists he photographed.
The collection also includes color shots of the transformed suburbs, offering a more critical perspective from the master photographer.
In this new monograph, Jean Claude Gautrand, a longtime friend of Doisneau, had exclusive access to the Atelier Robert Doisneau archive. The preface is contributed by Doisneau's daughters, Francine Deroudille and Annette Doisneau.
