Tribunal closing statements are tomorrow
I have been in a case against #nationaltrust since 2023 and tomorrow is my opportunity for oral arguments. The NT have been accused of racism ageism and sexism. Failing health and safety standards and finally after cross examining 9 people when it should have been 5, I get to find out soon if my case is upheld.
Join us live tomorrow. Follow the link. It is a public hearing and you can watch as an observer without hesitation.
————————
Hello,
See below the link to access tomorrow’s hearing. To access the Hearing please paste the following link into Google Chrome.
Please do not attempt to join the link until tomorrow, as our virtual hearing rooms can be in use until 5pm and this may disrupt an ongoing hearing.
meet.video.justice.gov.uk/go/a6dedd78-7be6-46af-b6…
You will have several screens to select options before you get in.
· On the first page select “join by web browser” it should be the second option.
· The second page should automatically select your room, please enter your name and put your role in the hearing in brackets (eg. Claimant, Respondent, Respondent’s Representative, Witness, Observer etc). This will allow for everyone present to be registered much easier, and will also allow all participants to know who everyone in the hearing is, and why they are there.
· The second page has settings options where you can configure preferences. There’s no need to use it, but if you want to check then Camera and Audio should be default and bandwidth medium.
· Next to the connect button there is a drop down to show / select whether you have camera / audio enabled. They need to be.
· Click connect. Microphone and Camera should be default
Please forward this link on to any relevant witnesses or observers you wish to be present in the tribunal hearing. It would be ideal if everyone who is planning on attending could try to log into the hearing around 10 or 15 minutes prior to the hearing’s listed start time to provide adequate time for those present to be adequately registered on the court record by the clerk before the hearing starts– this also provides a useful opportunity to fix any technical issues that may become apparent.
If you are giving evidence you will be asked to declare an oath or affirmation – if you would like to take a religious oath please ensure you have the relevant holy book with you at the start of the hearing.
If you have technical issues that cannot be rectified by the Clerk on the day or by yourself, please call the CVP Helpline on 0330 808 9405

Accepting returns and giving refunds: the law
Online, mail and phone order sales
Online, mail and telephone order customers have the right to cancel their order for a limited time even if the goods are not faulty. Sales of this kind are known as ‘distance selling’.
You must offer a refund to customers if they’ve told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they’ve told you.
You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. They do not have to provide a reason.
Repairs and replacements
If a customer has ‘accepted’ an item, but later discovers a fault, you may have to repair or replace it. The customer can still reject the item after it’s been repaired or replaced.
A customer has accepted an item if they’ve:
told you they’ve accepted it (having had enough opportunity to inspect the item before confirming they’ve received it)
altered the item
You must repair or replace an item if a customer returns it within 6 months - unless you can prove it was not faulty when they bought it.
You can ask a customer to prove an item was faulty when they bought it if they ask for a repair or replacement after 6 months.
Customers have up to 6 years to make a claim for an item they’ve bought from you (5 years in Scotland).
Warranties and guarantees
A customer has the same right to free repairs or a replacement regardless of whether they have a warranty or guarantee or not. So you may still have to repair or replace goods if a customer’s warranty or guarantee has run out.
Proof of purchase
You can ask the customer for proof that they bought an item from you. This could be a sales receipt or other evidence such as a bank statement or packaging.
Items returned by someone other than the buyer
You only have to accept returns from the person who bought the item.
Penalties for displaying notices
It’s illegal to display any notice that deliberately misleads consumers or deceives them about their rights, for example a sign that says you do not accept returns or offer refunds.

Thanks for dropping by!
I want you to help me make a change. By servicing and repairing your own tools, and yes, I mean your sewing machines too, you’ll be helping to keep them going for years, giving you all the joy you hoped you’d ever want from indulging in a mindful craft.
I am engineering graduate and qualified (maths) teacher. I volunteer with a charity, repairing vintage sewing machine. I have worked, maintaining and running 200 year old weaving looms and spinning machines. I have fixed hundreds of sewing machines, overlockers and embroidery machines and taught sewing to hundreds of individuals from every age group.
All of us are after a sustainable future. We want change; machines made with ethical manufacturing. Tonnes of polystyrene waste is created by the sewing machine industry. It's no good buying a machine from a company who haven't made a positive change for our future!
Subscribe to my channel and Follow to learn how to get the most from your machine.
