I want you to help me make a change. By servicing and repairing your own tools, and yes, I mean your sewing machines too, you’ll be helping to keep them going for years, giving you all the joy you hoped you’d ever want from indulging in a mindful craft.
I am engineering graduate and qualified (maths) teacher. I volunteer with a charity, repairing vintage sewing machine. I have worked, maintaining and running 200 year old weaving looms and spinning machines. I have fixed hundreds of sewing machines, overlockers and embroidery machines and taught sewing to hundreds of individuals from every age group.
All of us are after a sustainable future. We want change; machines made with ethical manufacturing. Tonnes of polystyrene waste is created by the sewing machine industry. It's no good buying a machine from a company who haven't made a positive change for our future!
