Season 3 has come and gone! The new resident moved in about 2 months ago. He is a large person (maybe 6ft 230lbs) so his steps can be really loud. Sometimes he is home for days and some of those days he spends hours walking around the one bedroom apartment like he's trying to get his steps in! Sheeeh! Mostly he's not loud but he has started staying up later and later walking around the unit, well past midnight, doing God knows what. I have to wear noise cancelling headphones in order to get to sleep because I never know when he won't stop walking around making a ruckus.

Season 3 began a few months back when a single male moved in. Initially, he was fairly quiet, but within a few months he would play his music loud on weekends and routinely have company over for holidays or weekends. Then he began getting into video games. Perhaps he was into them all along, but his passion became very vocal and visceral. He started shouting and throwing things at the walls. One day he had two guys over. I think they were playing video games. Someone started stomping their feet really hard on the floor over and over like a kid throwing a tantrum. That was the first time I ever tried to interact with him, and this was maybe a month or two ago but many months after he'd moved in. I rang the doorbell and could hear a voice say, "Oh sh!t." but no one came to the door; and I waited a long time. Well that told me a lot about his character. Since then he'd play music really loud, and everytime I would leave a note asking him to stop. He has since toned that down. I haven't been recording, but then he started doing something I can't quite describe other than it sounds like he's rolling something back and forth across the floor (They replaced the carpet with laminate flooring) for hours at a time. It can be very loud and wakes me up from my sleep. I have started recording it and will upload as soon as I can. I've been really busy, but thanks for understanding!

As of today I can confirm that the upstairs residents have moved out, and the unit has not been rented out to a new tenant, yet. The Season 2 couple left around July 3, 2023. Today, I called the manager to see what was going on because I would hear someone in the unit without seeing their car in their spot. She confirmed that they left, and the unit is vacant. Any traffic inside their unit was management or authorized repairs. When/if someone moves in it will be Season 3. Don't worry, I still have some Season 2 videos to upload. FYI one bedrooms in this complex are going for $1700, and there are 3 sitting empty at the moment (that I'm aware of). One of the one bedrooms has been empty since January. A new luxury complex opened at the next block. Those one bedrooms are starting at $2150. #thesugarwallschronicles #apartmentlife #apartmentliving

Thanks everyone for all the views, likes, comments, and subscriptions! Your interaction and feedback are genuinely appreciated. Now for a long overdue update: In May the apartment manager, we'll call her Annie, called me to offer an upstairs unit. I told Annie I couldn't afford the rent, but Annie said my lease would be transferred with the same rent. I told her I would think it over and get back to her in a couple of days. I texted her boss, we'll call her Aura, and Aura confirmed whatever Annie and I agreed on would be fine. I subsequently confirmed with Annie that I would move with the same rent, and Annie gave me a move date of June 1. I took the time off from work and started getting rid of things I know I did not want to take with me. I made calls to price out movers. June 1 came and went, and I never heard from Annie. She called me up, no excuse provided and said the move could be the week of June 23. Again, no communication and the week came and went. I got a call at the end of June. Annie and I made an appointment for July 3 to do a walk through of the new unit. We met as agreed and she informed me she would be walking through my unit as well. I was mortified because my place was a wreck. Annie was very gracious and didn't make me feel any worse. We walked through the new unit and she gave me the keys. I thanked her for changing my life and asked if there was anything else. She said no, and I went back to my unit in a daze. I couldn't believe this long road was finally coming to an end. Then the phone rang...it was Annie...she forgot to have me sign the new lease and ask for a prorated check for the new rent! I let Annie know the only reason I agreed to move was because the lease was being transferred with my current rent and if that is no longer the case, I am unable to move. I immediately returned the keys. She apologized. Back at my unit I remembered my text to Aura two months ago and pulled it up to verify I wasn't mistaken. My text does not mention the rent being the same, only that the lease would transfer. I got a second call from Annie. She offered that due to the confusion she wanted to update my unit with laminate floors (instead of carpet) and a new refrigerator. Annie had the changes completed within a week's time. Although I'm sad I'm still here, at least it looks much better with the new floors. The best part is the upstairs neighbors have been gone since early July. It has been unbelievably quiet and peaceful. Not to worry. I have a lot of videos to post still; and, when they return, I'll have even more. Stay tuned!

The current upstairs neighbors' daily routine has shifted to ending at 12AM! Which wouldn't be so bad if I was not already asleep for two hours and being jolted awake by their extremely loud footsteps. Videos coming soon.

UPDATE: APR 10, 2023 the on site manager called at 4:42PM but did not leave a message. I got a second call from her at 4:44PM and this time she left a voicemail on my phone. Apparently, she intended to call someone else as indicated by the fact that she used his first name (which is different than mine) and was referring to "him" which I believe she means me, saying that she wanted to discuss some options that would work for "him" with the ongoing "noise issue". She also made it sound like her boss had already reached out to Mark, and the boss was having her call Mark again to work something out.

Living downstairs can be hell! After trying to speak to the upstairs neighbor, speak to the manager, ignore the problem, and trying to change it, nothing changed and the upstairs neighbor became my mortal enemy. She made up sicking allegations, threatened to call the police, stalked me, illegally dumped her trash and cat litter onto my unit and that was just the tip of the iceberg. It was the near daily onslaught of noise that strained my patience. Well if all that was not enough, it was only Season 1. Each time a new tenant moves in, a new season begins. Seasons two and three are here to bemuse and shock you too!
