Lots of no-name parts used that should be replaced to improve reliability and quality! Wondering if I should make a short video on it while waiting on parts for the Onkyo A-G10 restorationā¦!

While I am preparing for the release of the Sony TAE-8450 & TAN-8550 restoration videos, I wanted to post a teaser for the next restoration series - A legendary Onkyo Grand Integra A-G10ā¦
This poor unit sustained some shipping damage on the way to meā¦ Luckily, it only had the (shit quality) binding posts pushed in, as well as some RCA jacks that were going to be replaced anyway. But I also wanted to showcase some absolutely horrendous work done by a pretty well known member on Audiogon. āEzekielā allegedly ārestoredā this unit, and you can see by the photos posted, the work done here is egregious.
Mangled chassis, hack job mounting the filter capacitors with a heavy helping of hot glue smeared everywhere, terrible soldering everywhere I look, many components not even replaced, tons of stripped screws, etc etc. I can go on and on. I see this all the time when āwell known talented techniciansā work on audio equipment. Finding competent technicians is getting harder and harder to do, and even so called ātalentedā or otherwise well-known and well-respected technicians can become complacent and start to do shit tier hack work like this. It makes me so upset to see this gorgeous amplifier treated so poorly. No worries, I will make it right. Stay tuned for this amplifierās revival.
I wanted to take a moment to address the inquiries and messages I have been receiving regarding audio repair and restoration services. I am truly grateful for the interest and support, but I want to let everyone know that I am extremely busy with things outside of the audio field, and as a result, I may not be able to respond to all messages and emails as soon as they are sent to me.
In addition, I have an extensive backlog of equipment that I am working through, and I want to inform everyone that I do not work on home theatre equipment, receivers, CD players, tape decks, or any low-end equipment. My focus is on high-end, vintage audio equipment, and I am committed to providing the best possible service to my clients within my capabilities.
