Himpunan Keilmuan Muslim (HAKIM) is an company formed with a great mission and vision to inculcate the true culture of knowledge in the Muslim society. This is in line with the Islamic intellectual tradition that regards knowledge as a great virtue reflected in the term hikmah. Hikmah (wisdom) springs from the faculty of reason (âaql) which defines and distinguishes human being from the rest of Godâs creation. Hikmah is also one of the cardinal virtues (ummahÄt al-faážÄâil) as deliberated by the many Muslim sages. There is a famous Arabic saying that "wisdom is lit from the niche of prophecy" (yanba`u'l-hikmah min mishkat al-nubuwwah). This is in line with the affirmation of the Qurâan that the Prophets, apart from being given a Book, were also endowed by God great wisdom (al-kitÄb wa al-ឥikmah).
