Good morning everyone. Really enjoyed the bridge game! Definitely going to do this again. We have two winners. āŖ@CentralPaRailfan⬠was correct in identifying Milton PA as our town and āŖ@debd.traveler1967⬠identified the bridge as being a Reading Railroad bridge. If you have a minute go check out both of their channels. You wonāt be disappointed.
The bridge in question is currently operated by the North Shore Railway and the original span, I believe was built by the Catawissa railroad. Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon friends. Thought we would try something new today.
Over the weekend I made some videos that had to many inaccuracies for my liking, therefore I would prefer not to post them. I do have a 20 second clip of myself on or near a bridge.
For those who are interested, I will post this video tonight at 7:30 PM eastern time 5/28/25. What Iām hoping for is that as many people as possible give a guess as to what town Iām in or which railroad built the bridge. We will see how it goes.
The picture doesnāt tell the whole story but it is part of the video I will post.

Photo 1. Myself on a mystery overpass. Leaning towards Catawissa railroad.
Photo 2 and 3. LNE Tamaqua branch bridge abutments. First time seeing these!
Photo 4 and 5. One of the few remaining historical railroad buildings left in Weatherly PA. Could be Beaver Meadow but the date points to Lehigh Valley railroad.

Hello friends. Today is a very special day in history. Today is the bicentennial of the official, official opening of the Schuylkill Navigation System. May 20, 1825.
Here are a couple pictures from yesterdayās tour with āŖ@sandysorlien6688ā¬. Sandy is a wonderful and knowledgeable woman and it was my pleasure to learn a little history from her.

Hello friends. A few of you have been wondering where the inactive spur ran that was in my most recent short video. Here are the google earth photos. Notice in the fourth photo there are rail cars parked there. I canāt confirm this however I donāt think those cars are actually there anymore. Hope these help.

Hello folks. Here are some map photos to show you where the Hazlebrook tunnel is located.
In photo 3 the tunnel is the straight section circled in blue. All those red lines are different branches of the Lehigh Valley railroad after they purchased all the early mining roads of the area.

Hello friends. I was blessed with two photos of the Lehigh gap from my friend Bryce. The third I took myself on April 19th 2025. Not sure of the dates on the first two. Iām speculating 1870s for the first and 1920s for the second.
Photo 1. Lehigh and Susquehanna railroad and Lehigh canal. Original railroad bridge was covered.
Photo 2. Now the Central Railroad of New Jersey, Lehigh canal and the Lehigh and New England Tamaqua branch in the background.
Photo 3. Now Norfolk Southern. No more canal. No more Lehigh and New England bridge. PA 248 is the highway and route 873 crosses the Lehigh River on its own bridge.

Exploring old railroads and rail trails and whatever else we find along the way. Nothing professional here, just us looking for cool history and some attempts at train spotting. Let's see what's out there. These videos are not intended to promote trespassing of any kind.
