Youtube's AI age checking is looming ever closer, and I'm undecided on what to do or where to go from here. What's everyone else's thoughts about this BS, and what are your plans once it goes through? Are you upset about this change? Please comment to clarify.

In a more positive light, I turned 38 this last month(YOU HEAR THAT YOUTUBE? I AM AN ADULT SO STOP SPYING ON ME!) and picked up a few things to expand my collection. With any luck I'll be able to get some animations of these out before Youtube and the internet as a whole goes to absolute shit. That said if I do abandon Youtube, does anyone know of an alternative video hosting site that's friendly/accepting of stop motion animators? Even if I don't I think it would be a good idea at some point to expand, but I just can't think of anywhere I could go that would be as accepting and flexible for the kind of context I make here.

ONLINE ANONYMITY IS UNDER ATTACK. Recently enacted "online saftety" laws in the United Kingdom are impacting the entire internet as their draconian influence spreads across the globe. Soon all websites will be required to verify your age regardless of where you live, and the methods used to do so are either verifiably far too easy to bypass or far too invasive to comply with. Youtube itself is due to roll out a system for this in the coming weeks as well, and I am sorely tempted to discontinue use of this platform in protest. It may seem like an extreme measure, but I was more than willing to do the same over the COPPA debacle of 2019. These laws and their methods of enforcement are ridiculous and only serve to impede and/or punish users and creators alike. I don't know what can be done to reverse course at this point though, even if the law is repealed similar bills are being proposed in the EU and US and the effort to enforce these regulations has been happening behind the scenes for some time. Unless new laws are enacted to explicitly protect online privacy in a way that revokes all right for online services to access as much of your personal information, they won't stop.
Tl;dr - Youtube is doing another big dumb to "protect children" and I'm considering f*cking off when that happens.

The maximum length of Youtube shorts is now supposedly long enough to support the length of most Embers-Verse data files. As such I want to gauge viewer feedback on whether or not future MS data files would even be welcome as shorts rather than standard format videos. Alternatively should I use the shorts format to discus ACTUAL ms lore relating to the kits and figures I own?

Youtube screwed the pooch with algorithm changes, have a look and start considering how you engage with your favorite creators. watch video on watch page

I don't check the "inspiration" tab on my content dashboard... and when I do it's usually nonsense that I would never follow up on. "Behind the scenes" though is one of the few things I MIGHT consider, as I do get a lot of questions about production and requests for a stop motion how-to/tutorial videos. Thing is I genuinely do not feel like an authority on the subject. Call it imposter syndrome, but I just don't think I'm the one you should be looking to to learn from because quite frankly I feel like I'm still learning myself. I'm not saying I won't ever try to teach what I can where I can, but don't come begging for it. Please either follow the tutorials of others like Lazyeyebrow or do as I have in passing and finds ways to download and analyze your favorite stop motions bit by bit to see what they do that you can mimic.

It occurs to me I don't get involved much in group projects outside of my gaming channel(and it's been a long time even there). Granted I don't look around to get into any sort of collabs, and offers are few and far in between and typically come at inconvenient times. I'm mostly just happy to be able to do my own thing and share it with people using only what little additional community aid I can get... and I don't really have any ideas for group made content myself. Still, I feel like I could be doing more, I'm just not sure what yet.
I will say this though, whatever it ends up being... can we NOT get children involved, please? I know I probably have a lot of kids watching my stuff, but I'm a full grown adult who is getting uncomfortably close to 4 decades old. Not to mention the general red tape of working with pre-teens and the like online, so can we just not? I appreciate you all, but I need to have boundaries.

I'm not surprised by the outcome, but the ratio was a lot closer than I would have figured it would be.

I found these at local Walmarts not too long ago and while I'm not into move designs or the proportions it piqued my curiosity enough to pick one up when I noticed they were the one TF item that was actually selling out. It'll interrupt my current project(again), but I'll try to put out another video like the last one on this.

Stop motions once in a blue moon, and perhaps subscriptions.
