đŸ„ł Thank you for a mind blowing 2024!

1st image is 2024 growth. 2nd image is all time. Look at that growth line!

Started the year off with 75,938 subscribers.

My goal was to cross 100k subs.

Ended up ADDING over 108k more instead.

And only uploaded 7 times this year. đŸ€Ż

Too bad subscribers don't mean anything these days...

Maybe one day YT will do what Spotify does and show monthly views.

In that case, I averaged 583k views a month (7 million views for the year).

Most importantly, happy birthday to my bride of 19 years. We're both in our 40s now and she stopped counting.

This is a great and approachable video from my friend Sam. She’s 197 subscribers away from 300k. I’d like to push her over the edge today. Would you be against subscribing to her channel and making her day?!

I have asthma and a history of respiratory challenges, which makes woodworking—and all the sawdust that comes with it—quite a challenge.

Last year, I reached out to â€Ș@oneida-air‬ to partner with me on making my shop cleaner, healthier, and more efficient for producing YouTube videos. I honestly thought they'd say no, but it turns out, they were big fans of the channel and jumped at the opportunity to help me find a solution that worked.

Initially, I considered hacking my inexpensive Harbor Freight dust collector by adding a cyclone, a HEPA filter, and running hard piping to all my tools. While many people go this route, I quickly discovered several significant drawbacks and overlooked details that come with this approach.

In the process, I learned a ton about cyclones, cyclone sizing, true vs. fake HEPA filters, misleading HEPA marketing jargon, flex hoses, and much more.

I documented the entire journey in a short YouTube video for Oneida's channel, where I share what I learned—from my struggles with the original dust collector to installing my dream system: the Dust Gorilla Pro with a 5HP motor and a fully hard-piped setup.

One thing I love about Oneida is that dust collection is their thing. It’s what they do. While plenty of companies will sell you a branded version of a motor, bag, and filter, Oneida stands apart. Having the health concerns I do, it was an easy choice to partner with a company whose sole focus is dust collection—and who backs up their HEPA ratings with third-party testing.

Please give this video a watch. You’ll learn a ton—I know I did!

Today someone reminded me of this old video of mine making fun of youtube monetization tactics. Most of you probably haven't seen it since it's not an algorithm-friendly video. ONLY WATCH IF YOU HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR and want to laugh. You're welcome.

I stumbled across this video yesterday when it had 500 views. It deserves 500,000. Give it a watch. You’re welcome.

For all you YouTube nerds. Well presented video and it tracks with what I know from behind the scenes when Jon unlisted the videos in question that “did too well”.
