In a historic moment, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) witnessed the dedication of its transformative Campus Development Project to the nation by the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi via Video Conference. The event’s joy was manifold with the august presence of Dr (Smt) Tamilisai Soundararajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman, BoG, IITH, Mr SUZUKI Hiroshi (Webex), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to India, Ms Sachiko Imoto (Webex), Senior Vice President, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), Prof B S Murty, Director, IITH, Deans, Faculty, Staff and Students of the IITH. The ceremony marked the culmination of years of meticulous planning, cutting-edge construction, and a commitment to sustainable growth. The dedication ceremony included key buildings such as the International Guest House, Convention Centre, Technology Incubation Park, Knowledge Centre, Sports and Cultural Complex, Students' Hostels, and various academic and administrative buildings, collectively valued at Rs 1089 Cr. As the campus stands as a beacon of educational excellence, the support from the distinguished individuals highlights the collaborative spirit and commitment to progress that define this historic moment.


Urging students to contribute back to the Nation, Dr TamilSai Soundararajan said, "IIT Hyderabad is known for its excellence in technology and innovation with Top #8 Rank in Engineering and Top #3 Rank in Innovation by NIRF 2023. I have been witnessing the campus's progress since my inception as Governor of the state. The development of low-cost ventilators by IITH’s Innovators was once a personal memory. Being education is now student-centric, I am sure many such novel initiatives will be making a mark in the journey of Viksit Bharat".


Congratulating Team IITH, Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman, Board of Governors, IITH, "The dedication of the IIT Hyderabad campus to the nation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and innovation. This world-class facility sets new standards for educational institutions in India and aims to be the Top-100 global institute in the future."


Enumerating the uniqueness of IITH, Prof B S Murty, Director, IITH, welcomed the gathering, stating, “The dedication of the campus to the nation is a proud moment for the entire IITH community. It reflects our vision of creating an environment that fosters interdisciplinary research, sustainability, and academic brilliance."


Expressing greetings on behalf of the Government of Japan, Mr SUZUKI Hiroshi said, “The architectural marvels and innovative designs of the campus development showcase the strength of Indo-Japanese ties. It's a proud moment for both nations. IITH stands as a one-stop platform to take the India-Japan partnership to the next level."

The 37th Annual Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held on February 20, 2024 at 09:30 AM at IGNOU Campus, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi. Honorable Vice President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar. Was the chief guest at IGNOU headquarters and delivered the convocation address. The main program of the convocation was telecast live on Gyan Darshan channel. The event was organized simultaneously in 36 regional centers across the country. A total of 308584 students obtained degrees/diplomas in various subjects, out of which 35 students received gold medals for excellent performance in their respective subjects. Cash prizes were also given to meritorious students in various categories.

On this occasion, in the regional center Patna also, a convocation ceremony was organized at Premchand Rangshala, Rajendra Nagar, Patna. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Nalanda Open University, Nalanda, Prof. Krishna Chandra Sinha participated as a special guest on this occasion and addressed the convocation ceremony and distributed certificates to the students. On this occasion, he highlighted the development of IGNOU over the decades, appreciated the efforts of IGNOU in taking education to every doorstep in the country, stressed on the similarity of traditional and distance learning methods of education and encouraged the students to develop their credentials and capabilities. Motivated to prove and asked them to do miracles in whatever field they choose. A total of 18075 students qualified for degree/diploma. Out of them, 929 students attended the convocation in person and received their degrees/diplomas. TPS under Patna Regional Centre. Vaishali Kumari, a student of the College Learner Support Centre, was awarded a gold medal by the Honorable Vice President for securing first position in Post Graduate Psychology. Apart from this, Vaishali Kumari was awarded the 'Prof. Yes. Ram Reddy Memorial Gold Medal was awarded. Senior Regional Director Dr. Abhilash Nayak presented the progress report of the Regional Centre, Patna for the year 2023-2024

Grand Permanent campus of IIM Bodh Gaya gets inaugurated by PM Modi


Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the state of the art permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya on 20th Feb. The event commenced with an early morning puja where Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, the director of IIM Bodh Gaya, faculty members, and students gathered to seek blessings from the divine.


In the institute's auditorium Niranjana, the event began with the lamp lighting ceremony and chanting of Saraswati Vandana. Lt. General P.S. Minhas AVSM, Commandant, OTA Gaya, joined the event as the Guest of Honour and addressed the audience, including students and faculty members with his motivational words to contribute to nation building.

The Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi, in collaboration with the Happiness Centre, IIM Ranchi and the Department of Sports Science and Yoga (RKMVERI), Belur Math, concluded a two-day transformative Yoga Camp. The camp's primary goal was to instil the mindset of 'Embrace Yoga: Align Body, Mind, and Spirit.'

The valedictory ceremony, held at the institute, was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, along with Prof. Prasenjit Chakrabarti, Prof. Tanusree Dutta, and Swami Vidyapradananda.



Swami Vidyapradananda, a Ramakrishna Order monk and a Penn State University PhD holder, played a significant role in planning and conducting the camp. More than 250 participants, including students and volunteers, actively engaged in the yoga sessions.



Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of yoga in enhancing concentration and emphasised the need for a focused approach in today's multitasking world. He announced the integration of yoga into the academic curriculum and expressed gratitude to Swami Vidyapradananda.

Swami Vidyapradananda, in his address, expressed gratitude for the institute's invitation and shared insights into the scientific planning behind the two-day camp. He appreciated the participants' enthusiasm, urging them to integrate the takeaways from the sessions into their daily lives.



The valedictory ceremony included the felicitation of Swami Vidyapradananda, Prof. Arkadeb Dutta, and Prof. Arnab Das, who contributed significantly to the event. Certificates were also awarded to volunteers from RKMVERI for their dedication to organising and regulating the Yoga camp.



As a token of appreciation, Swami Ji presented Director Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava with a glass painting of Swami Vivekananda, created by one of his students.



The event concluded with a mesmerising performance by volunteers showcasing various yoga postures and balancing techniques. Prof. Prasenjit Chakrabarti expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, and the ceremony ended with the national anthem, inspiring participants to incorporate regular yoga practice into their lives.

As a groundbreaking move, Hon'ble Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launched the transformative 100-Cube Start-Up initiative of IIT Bhubaneswar’s Research and Entrepreneurship Park today. This visionary program aims to create 100 start-ups, each with a valuation of Rs. 100 crores by the 100th Anniversary of Odisha in 2036. To achieve this goal, the Park will provide essential resources, mentorship, seed capital and access to potential investors. The Park is set to expand from its present 20,000 square feet area to about 80,000 square feet over the next two years with the support of Rs. 130 crore from the Ministry of Education.
