SAMİDA, which means "three sisters" in Georgian, was established in 2016 by Yudum ŞAHİN, Damla ŞAHİN, and Tamara ŞAHİN.
The group set out on their musical journey with the goal of keeping alive the polyphonic singing style inherent in Georgian tradition while introducing new musical creations.
With a unique approach to performance, SAMİDA interprets melodies from the Caucasus, Anatolia, the Balkans, and various other cultures around the world.
Yudum ŞAHİN contributes with her performances on the panduri, cello, and vocals; Damla ŞAHİN with the salamuri, flute, balaban, and vocals; and Tamara ŞAHİN with the violin and vocals.
