Today is the hardest day I've had in as long as I can remember.
This guy hasn't left my side no matter what i do or where i go in 10+ years. (He made it to 17... and was doing fine yesterday.. today come rain) ... From going to work, to flying on airplanes, to trips to best buy.. Nothing waas off limits except the grocery store.

My life has revolved around this soul for over a decade and I wouldn't be here without him. I don't really have any more words. I'm hoping to figure out what has suddenly gone wrong but this is likely the last car ride ... and I'm ... I'm just without words or thoughts right now.

The show I've been working on for three days is almost complete and I do hope to still go forward with getting it done regardless.. whether that is today or tomorrow remains to be seen. (It's a massive preview of "Remasters, the next generation" that I've been really looking forward to showcase on here to give people an idea of what the future is going to be..

I just ... I dont know.. This is my best friend and my world. I'm gonna be feeling really alone for a while and I thank you all for the support in everything.

I can barely see straight at the moment so .. apologies.

So, I just wanted to illustrate something about what we're doing here.

I'm currently in the process of re-doing a remaster video that was posted recently on here, but with a more robust process that will really "turn up the *wow factor*" to a degree that I genuinely think is going to blow some minds. :)
It's kind of the "next step" in what our ability will be on this channel, though we are going to have to use it a bit sparingly for the time being. Let me explain!

That number on the screen -- (547 watts) -- is the current consumption of just the graphics card on one of three computers I have running in parallel on a video editing project.

That’s just the graphics card in the computer using 547 watts, not the total power consumption of each individual computer. So, 1650 watts being used just by 3 graphics cards. In additon to this 1650 watts, there's also "All the rest of the stuff that makes a powerful computer powerrul eating up power while this is happening.. the grpahics cards are just the biggest chunk of power in each individual computer.

These are also the most efficient (and the most powerful) graphics cards on the market, and this wattage genuinely isn't even full tilt (though it's close, they're rated for 600 watts each)

Altogether I assume the computers are using between 2500-3000 watts (plus the power usage of the file server and networking equipment (throw in another 500+ watts there!)

This single process will consume about 40 hours of compute time across the machines, and that is to get to a point wire I can move to the next step in the job on this *one video* (one show) ... which will have another solid day in ediitng all said and done.

I would note that this is not every video, and it's not even most videos, but even scaled back, i'm sure anyone that pays an electirc bill is feeling their butthole pucker up realizing how much power this uses even using hte most efficenet equipment on the market.

So, if you ever wonder *why* we are always very concerned about the cost of operations, things like patreon, and why we solicit voluntary donations to the project, this stuff is running all the time. There is 5 figures in equipment and it always needs upgraded and maintained, we have storage needs that are astronomical, and now that you see the numbers, I'm sure you can imagine what this does to an electric bill :)

Someone wanna buy me some solar panels??? 🤣

Anyways -- Just a shout out to everyone who has ever helped us, to the people who continue to help us, and to just everyone who has supported this channel in any way. We are always striving to get better at what we do. And a reminder that we genuinely *always* rely on the patreons and random people who donate to this channel to keep it moving.

I did not mention that during the time between the fundraiser we did and when I started posting videos again -- I happened to buy *another* rtx 5090 graphics card ($2000) because I got called up in the NVidia "raffle" where they "allow you to purchase a new card at MSRP prices" (because they are so scarce right now, they have to do it this way... these cards are selling for $3000 quite often. I was able to recover most of the money by selling the "RTX 4090" graphics card that was in the comptuer -- which had just gone out of warranty, on ebay for almost the same price as I paid for the brand new 5090 with a brand new 3 year warranty :) (That did add to the downtime, but it also worked out really well and "only" cost a couple hundred bucks to do a pretty significant upgrade.. . moving us almost entirely to the latest hardware (still will need to rebuild the rest of that computer at some point, but it's not a pressing matter right now!)

Anyways I realize I've lost a lot of people with the technobabble :)

The point here is .. Thank you to the people who support this channel. We 1000% could not do it without your support. That said, please never feel obligated to send us money.

I think everyone will be nicely impressed with what we are able to do with this sample show. I won't yet be able to do a lot of full shows the way we're about to produce this one, but it's a glimpse of things to come, and I do plan on doing at least a lot of singles in the meantime.. Obviously, the costs are just very prohibitive even when you're just factoring electricity... Running 2.5-3 kilowatts 24/7 isn't cheap at all :) (If you've ever been an indoor gardner, I'm sure you know, except... that stuff used to make a lot of money!) :D

Anyways -- just thought I'd share this so people could visuallize the "holy crap" factor of how intensive this can be. (and again, I think everyone will be very impressed with the results!)

Hey everyone -- It's time !

Of note: spent another 2500 on parts, got another 5090 graphics card, sold the 4090, that's why things have been slow. The price of the upgrade after the sale offset the vast majority of the cost, so it was just something that needed to be done while the window of opportunity was still open to upgrade for super "cheap" -- and it was on my main machine... All done... both computers are running great right now, still a few things that need config work, but that's something that will always be the case :)

Go see the GD movie tonight if you can and have fun... and get ready to tune in here on this channel tonight for the afterparty :)

Thanks everyone for your patience (i wrote a post last week about the extra upgrades that were bought but forgot to hit "post" and ... well, it didn't get posted.. my bad!)

Just a very quick update. (I'll TRY to keep it short!)

*Long story short: There were some delays *because* of the surplus of money that came in, so i put it into this computer to make it even better -- and it's working great. My clumsy computer building skills are apparently still "adequete" :) -- Therefore I very much do expect that we're back online with some new shows *THIS WEEK* (and i hope to post multiples.. thanks to josh keeping at work getting things prepped so my job is a little easier !!)

So.....

Thank you again to everyone, we are always in need of support to keep this runnning, but what happened last month was absolutely overwhelming and allowed this to happen..

No, we have not disappeard ... Yes, the computer is together (I ended up moving the radiator in the front of the case to the top, and i went out and bought 3 fans for front air intake, and another fan for rear exhaust, and another fan that helps bring in air from the bottom, which helps create a lot of static pressure inside the case.. this is a good thing!)

I also went out and bought a couple more NVME solid state drives (Three total drives, 2TB each, max transfer speeds are ~15GB/SEC sequential) ... basically dumped a few hundred more into this one to get to where therer wont' be a need to take stuff apart any time soon. This was all about increasing airflow while trying to do it in a way that wouldn't make a lot of noise.. (more fans, less work per fan, etc.) More onboard memory to be able to swap large video files around very quickly.

The computer is up and running great, it took me a bit of time to make a custom windows install to get rid of all the "bloat" in windows 11... and then i had to do all the "tuning" that comes with a custom built pc -- and luckily i can say it turned out wonderful. I put it through a lot of benchmarking and stress tests to make sure it's going to hold up great and it's even better than i was hoping for.

This did take a little longer than expected, and I was hoping to have this up and producing content way sooner, but it was better to "get it done right" and make this thing as solid and as good as possible.. We had a slight overrun on the donor drive so i tried to make sure it all went itno this build. (while retaining my promise that i would still use my own money for a large part of it)

I added a 10 gigabit network card to it so we can transfer files between computers and to the file server very quickly (this gets super important when we're dealing with the massive sized videos that we use in the editing process)

Anyways, I was hoping to get a show out before GD60, that didn't happen, but now that this puppy is tuned in, I think we will get back on track this week

I will be back active on patreon (again, you can be a free member there!!! You don't have to pay money, plus you'll get acces to the discord server that i've been setting up for things like live streams that can't be here on YT... We'll go over that more later... I really want to do it in a way that makes it easy for people who don't understand "what is discord"

That said, it changes nothing for the channel, we'll still be putting everything we can on here, and we'll be starting back this week.

Apologies for the almost month-long delay here, things have been a little hectic with dealing with parental surgeries etc.

We should be back this week, and I think we're gonna have a lot of shows, because while i've been doing this , Josh has been hard at work getting a queue of shows for me to work off of so when this was ready, I'd be able to just go at it :)

Announcement:

FIRSTLY: Thank you to everyone who has ever enjoyed this page, and special thanks to everyone who participacted here and helped me turn lemons into lemonade. It's going to take a couple days to get set up with the new setup, but we're good now. I can breathe a little easier, and it's impossible for me to put into words how much it blows me away that people care about this project at all, much less are willling to throw their hard earned money into making sure it can continue to keep growing and getting better -- so really all I can say is Thank you. I just do not have words that will suffice right now and to try to would be disingenuous. This is just incredible.

That said, I have been a little busy with parents the past day or so and really haven't had time (and tbh I've been a ball of anxiety and stress since this all started) -- It is what it is, and part of me just wants to get back into my own home full time really badly more than anything else, living between two houses and taking on a voluntary layoff has just turned this year into a blur.

I stated yesterday around this time that I thought we were probably close to the goal (if not already there) -- and when I started tallying up the numbers today, I realized that a few $100-$300 deposits were taken in via paypal (while i was adding up venmo transactions) -- which were already pushing the $3000 mark on their own merit .

I do not have the exact total, but I wanted to hurry to get this up to say "HEY, WE ARE GOOD!" so at the very least, I could get out to people to stop sharing and pushing actively for people to send money to us, the goal is *surpassed* and I want to get the word out that we're not in any immediate need to actively push for more. That's the last thing I want to do. I didn't have a lot of time to go over this yesterday and just knew "we were at least very close"

I don't even have a really accurate guess at this point but it's "probably more than 300 over but less than 800 over" -- yeah, that's a huge margin of error, but there are both a lot of ~$10 and a lot of ~$100+ transactions split across Venmo/Paypal/Cashapp/Temporary patreon subscription increases/Apple Cash/Phsyical checks, so I'm just leaving a large margin of error..

As I stated before, if we did go over, I am still personally covering the other ~$1500 in costs associated with this situation, and any excess funds raised here will 100% be recycled into our normal page funding that is normally backed up by montly Patreon subscriptions (Great idea to get on there whether you are paid or unpaid member, as I do plan on really "upping the activity" for making patreon a hub where people can more easily communicate directly with me (and others) and a place where some content that cannot be on youtube can be shared (both through streaming and through download links.. I was heavily vested into finally getting the cloud storage stuff set up literally the day the computer break-down happened)

I want to make it clear that if you had already planned on donating to the page here to help out, we absolutley still could use the help. We do have things we want to invest in (storage archival expansion, software licensing, and just a lot of other expenses that add up very quickly, and we're really depended on individual donors + the collective of patreon users to be the backbone keeping the ship floating over the past 4.5 years. It's been pretty seamless and luckily this is the first time in those years I've had to do something like this. We always have huge expenses that are luckily mostly funded out by the userbase as a whole, many hands make for light lifting.

This is just to make sure people know to not keep sharing this as some kind of dire need, we got it, now hopefully we get back to normal as quiclkly as possible. I still have some parts to order and some work in front of me to get things set up. Best to use this time to start on that than to type a novel on here that nobody wants to read :)

Again -- 100wpm+ typing ability is a very mixed blessing, especially when I'm not planning on proofreading and editing before posting :)

*Thank you to everyone*

Hey everyone -- Just thought I would update with the current total, there are a few pending transactions that will alter this number in the coming hours, but I am pretty blown away at the outpouring of support here, and once we hit this goal, I'm going to shut it down and just go back to our normal operation where we rely on passive donations and largely on patreon to keep the ship floating. We have a lot of operating expenses, and don't create revenue with this page (hello copyrights!) so it's kind of an atypical thing for youtube and in the video editing space to do something that costs plenty of money and time without a profit motive -- nevertheless, I still absolutely loathe being in a situation where we're actively asking for money, so once again thank you to everyone who has made this as painless as possible in what has basically been just a day or so -- I know the last mile will be the toughest in getting to the finish line, but I hope to have this concluded before the end of this week (or weekend).

Just for reference, here are the ways you can contribute if you have the ability:
Venmo: @Christopher-Hazard-0
Paypal: Christopher.Hazard@utoledo.edu
Cashapp: $hazard4k

You can also email me directly at hazardc at gmail dot com fi yo

I will continue to update this on a daily basis, and as soon as the goal is met, I will announce it and take it down. In the chance that we do happen to hit an "overage" before I notice, any funds will go directly into updating software licensing, storage upgrades, or into hardware I may have mentioned in an earlier post (KVM switch is at the top of my list, which allows you to use the same keyboard/mouse/other peripherials between multiple machines, so at the press of a button you can use the same combination of equipment seamlessly switched between machines. This is something i already planned on buying)

I don't foresee us "going over" before i notice it, but I do want to put an end to the "active fundraising" type stuff as soon as we get there. This leaves me in the original spot I planned on being in (Spending $1500 of my own money to fix the situation we were currently in, and ending up with one fully fucntional and upgraded workstation)

Where we are at has absolutely taken a lot of stress off of my shoulders already, so I'd like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who has pitched in so far, everyone that plans on doing so before this wraps up, and everyone who has ever sent us a penny in the past to help with this. I never imagined things would get this "big" when I started doing this on a 10-year old desktop with a used $200 graphics card at home just after we got hit by covid in the summer of 2020, but wow here we are, and I can't overstate how grateful I am for the people who have supported us in the past to get to where we are today, who have month after month supported this channel to the point where we have not had to actively ask for a single thing since December of 2020. 4.5 years of voluntary passive suppport has kept us afloat until now, and we're very close to clsoing this chapter (and exponentially increasing our production output and quality).

We do have some things that will come in the future that will be more long-term in scope, but I have some more creative ideas on how to raise those funds without just putting a "Cold ask" out there for this..

Again, thank you. I am still a bit thrown back by the outpouring of initial support on this, and the fact that we are just 29.5% away from closing the book on this and being able to just focus on the music again.

Thank you <3

NOTE: This is 3-messages long

First off, this is going to be fairly long, and I hope most viewers of this channel will take the time to read this post, this is important as to the future direction of the channel, and it's really a situation that came out of nowhere, but my current life situation combined with the current financial situation here just hit head on, and this is the first time since Fall 2020 where I am doing two things. I am going to ask for the input of our users and I'm going to actively/openly advovate for a short fundraising period (though if it's not received well, I'm not going to push it.)
This isn't our normal "hey you can really help us out by shooting over a few bucks at leisure " situation that we've been able to maintain almost to perfection over the past few years thanks to having a great base of viewers and supporters of our work here. It's not something I like to do, but right now it's the more necessary to do this than it ever has been, and it would be a huge net beenfit if we can hit the number and not need to basically regress a little from the point where I'm at right at this moment.

_______________________________________________________________________________
QUICK SUMMARY

I really do want people to at least read this -- but basically we need to fundraise ~3000 in a relatively short period to cover a huge equipment issue that would turn it into a "massive benefit" (basically getting two top-tier editing rigs online --

The better part is that in the past day or two, people have already sent around ~500 and possibly more, when i hadn't even been soliciting like this. I will add that up... so the number is more like $2500 -- I will get these numbers straight as quickly as possible, There's jsut some overlap with my owns funds here that I haven't fully added up (All the costs, reasons for the costs, and the "why this is neeeded" are below, so please take the time to read it. I really do believe this community is capable of producing the funds, and if you read below, I am personally covering a large amount of this myself. (and part of the reason for the need is because hardware I thought was dead just isn't dead, so it would be super beneficial to just get *everything* running and make the page operate exponentially better in the short and foreseeable future.

I am going to post our donor links here -- again, please read below if you have the time ...It's important to me that people know why we would do an "ask" for something like this, and THANK YOU to the people who already had thrown hundreds into paypal and venmo over the past few days while i iddn't even notice, you guys made this goal a lot easier to achieve.

Venmo: @Christopher-Hazard-0
Paypal: Christopher.Hazard@utoledo.edu
Cashapp: $hazard4k

Patreon exists too, but that's something that keeps the ship afloat and was never intended for situations like this (although it did provide a bit of a buffer here)

You can also email me directly at hazardc at gmail dot com

Thanks -- even if you don't read/skim the rest. (please do!) I apprecaiate all the support over the past 5 years
_____________________________________________________________________________

The last couple weeks have 1000% been exhausting and out of left field for this work. I have been both on a voluntary lay-off from my day job and staying with my parents with them both recovering from surgeries (and as of today everyone has covid!)

Basically, the main editing computer that I've been using since 2021 and upgrading along the way (to the point where it's still a massively capable machine in 2025 with very great hardware because of thoughtful long-term planning with upgrades. (For computer people it's a 5950x with 128GB of DDR4 and an RTX 4090, PCI-E gen 4 SSDs, etc..)

~7-8 days ago, after I had i just moved a new office chair/desk here to be able to work at the desktop more, the computer experienced a sudden catastrophic failure.

At first my thought process was to try troubleshooting it, but with limited access to other equipment to test the parts against, I endfed up spending $200 on a new power supply (that i quickly found out wasn't the issue).

After this happened, I decided the best course of action was to bite the bullet and just upgrade most of the computing components in the computer, everything except the RTX 4090 graphics card (which is still genuinely worth more, used, than the $1699 i paid for it two years ago -- because of the current market.

So, I drove the next day 92-miles from Ohio to Microcenter in Madison Heights Michigan and purchased a new CPU, RAM, Motherboard, a "Gen 5" Solid state drive, water cooler, and I picked up a computer case, just "in case" the older computer might be salvageable at some point I figured "what the heck"

So at this point (I am going to post every receipt on this post -- I was at pretty much dead-ass on $1500 invested into this situaiton just adding up the price of all the parts purchased above -- not an expense had planned on, but it was manageable. This is why we have donor links and patreon, for when things break, and they often do, just not usually this much at once -- but it was sitll VERY manageable and I was pretty happy with the current state of the upgrade. While the coputer that had just failed was *VERY* capable still as a video editing machine (and pretty much at any computing task) -- the new stuff was just all of "the best stuff of right now" -- the only part I was going to move over to the $1500 investment was literally the graphics card (The RTX 4090 mentioned above)

Some of you may have seeen the stream(s) where i was assembling parts on a table at night and just felt like bs'ing (it was very late at night when i did these) ...

So, sounds great, right?

Just buttoning up the new pc. Will be finishing repair on the am4 later.
Please see the Patreon link for a more comprehensive run down of what’s happening right now. We could use a *little* help getting the last bit of finishing up this whole thing now that the situation has changed with the successful repair of the other workstation.

Just a little update

I have been adding some posts on patreon (patreon.com/hazardc) -- the link is also above this post up top ! ; )

I think some of the stuff is valuable to everyone, and i don't have it set up to send notification to all patreon memberes when i make posts..

Basically I added a new tier (and that is explained)

Uploads are starting to get into motion (3 years late) Expect some cool videose and even some audio this week. Feel free to make requets *ON PATREON NOT ON HERE PLEASE * ;)

Also, if you did not know, you can join patreon free fi you don't want to be a paid member obviously, you will not see some posts that only go out to paid memmbers (and most of them eventually do go public to be honest.. I'm still working on how we're gonna deal with all of this.. Trying to catch up with my personal life today since i've been taking care of parents for a while and haven't been able to be home much)

The one thing i brought up is that we 100% are going to have a discord server, for ayoen that knows waht discord is and is intereted in joining the serer, please defer to patreon and we'll probably ahve that up this week. i I cannot launch the patreon tiers into being auto-invited yet unti lthe server is ready (it literally says if it's not ready i'm breaking their TOS if i don't have the server properly configured to have patreon help manage it .. Not a big deal, just needs some time put in .

Anways .. have fun, thanks everyone, look forward to some shows this week. I should be able to be quite a bit more productive than things have been lately :) (even though you guys don't see a lot of what we're doing behind the scenes, i assure you we're always working on SOmETHING) :)

OK, i hope that didn't sound like an ad for patreon, but I just wanted to get the word out to more people on here what's going on and how it's going to be managed. (and why there's a 5.55 tier)

Thanks again eveeryone <3 Coud not do it without you all.

Something I need to address here...

First off let me thank everyone for the great night we had coming back

Anyways, going through our channel stats i stumbled on this, and I feel the need to make this abundandly clear

I was hoping that this would go away and it could just be ignored, and i've already dealt with this guy in the past. He's even went out of his way to pre-emptively block me on all social media (twitter, facebook, etc)

Everyone on this list is cool, contributes to the scene, and does their own thing.. Everyone except this one person "DeadAllOver"

99% of the content on that page is stolen directly from our page (downloaded) and just reuploaded -- and he's not only apparenltly pulled hte wool over many people's eyes given the fact that he suddenly has 5000 subscribers, but the guy is trying to monetize merch along with using our work to do it.. The videos are all out of whack, it should be obvious with all the "1080p 60fps remaster blaah blah " --- he hasn't done anything.. he's not giving *ANYONE* credit that ever taped the audio or video, and he's literally stealing our work and repositing it for two reasons ... one of them is to "flood the space" which just ruins everything for everyone, and he's stealing our work and claiming it as his own. he's deliberately doing this and I just haven't had the time to pursue this issue very hard.

All I'm doing for now is putting the word out -- you're just looking at videos from our page that have been overly compresssed from downloading and re-uploading to youtube .. The guy has zero idea how to do anything with videos, he has never posted anything original or done any work at all. I am not exaggerating when i say he's literally just a thief who is stealing the stuff we put countless hours into and claiming it as his own..

We don't even claim all of this stuf to be "OURS" becaue it took a lot of people to record the audio and video and to do all the work form that point to where it is today. This guy has done absolutely ZERO except steal teh work of everyone else and try to make money off of it -- and apparently 5000 of you have fallen for it.

The fact there is zero lineage to anything in any of his files and he can't explain "how" he does anything at all should be the dead giveaway.. This guy is a stain on the community and as soon as his page can get taken down (again) it will be taken down (again)

I'm not going to ask people to go on some stupid crusade, but i would ask you to just avoid the page.

Giving him views and likes and subscribes etc .. it genuinely does hurt our page in the big scope of the algorithm bs on youtube... Yes, there's a part of me that wants to be petty and tell people to call him out, thumbs down eveyrthing, and don't watch the videos he posts (why would you when they're literally re-uploads of things that are on this page in full quality?)

I understand this isn't the fault of viewers who are just looking for things to watch, but when there is so much crossover that he's basically at hte top of the list of correlation between viewership -- we have a huge problem, and it is doing tanglible dmage to our overall viewership and giving it to someoen who is actively stealing as much of our work as fast as he can.. he's posting years of our stuff in a matter of months... it has to stop.

Please, just take the time to not give this guy any more attention. The rest will take care of itself in time.

I'm sorry i even feel the ned to make this post, it's deflating to see peopel like this just blatantly steal your own hard work just for clout..

I've already said enough. Don't harass him on my behalf, please. I don't want the trouble. If you're subscribed, I won't tell you to unsub, but i will tell you that you're supporting someone who isn't doing anything but stealing and repositng our work and it's genuinely hurting what we are doing here
