When the final chapter finally arrives, everything else should sharpen rather than blur. The moment I faced the truth that death is the finish line, the urge to sprint, to chase, to prove myself, began to soften.
My grandfather was my North Starāa quiet strength, a steady hand, a voice that reminded me what really matters. In his memory, Iām choosing a different path: not one measured by pace, titles, or external validation, but by presence, purpose, and peace.
Itās easy to measure worth by how fast we climb or how many accolades we collect. Itās easy to get lost chasing roles, raises, and recognition, hoping that one more achievement will finally make it feel complete. Iāve seen how quickly that cycle can hollow you out, even when the wins are loud and the approvals plenty.
Ambition isnāt the villain. But misalignment is. The true flex isnāt the most impressive person in the room. Itās choosing to be the most at peace with yourself, even when the world is shouting for more.
So Iām pausing the race. Iām re-centering on what genuinely matters: the people I love, the rituals that ground me, and the quiet acts of courage that keep me honest. Iām letting go of the incessant comparison and the constant chasing of the next thing.
