Update: In an unsurprising turn of events, the 36-year-old man, Edmund Davis, who has been described as Alicia Navarro's boyfriend for at least the last two years while she was missing, has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of sexual abuse of children resulting from child sexual abuse material found on his cell phone. According to the charging documents, when the police searched the couple's shared residence, they found that Edmund had thrown his cell phone in the trash, seemingly with the hopes that the police wouldn't find it. However, the police saw him throw away the phone, noting that he took time to place more trash over it.

Due to the fact that Alicia was most definitely groomed by this man and sexually abused herself since she was 14, it is likely she will, at least for a short time, try to defend Edmund. Victims of prolonged and normalized abuse tend will often see what they went through as more or less normal and not that bad. They will make excuses for the people who have hurt them, usually in an effort to maintain their worldview, and not see themselves as a victim of horrific abuse. We have seen this kind of behavior before in Angelica Houston, who famously stated that Roman Polanski's actions against his most notable victim were not bad because she had gone through something similar.

Above all else, she is a victim in this circumstance, and it will likely be years before she can properly assess what happened to her.

I have been working on a video about the Suzanne Morphew case for the past couple weeks on and off, and yesterday her remains were found. This case has been one of the most haunting that I have seen in a long time, and I certainly hope Suzanne gets justice.

*_Update to the case against Kouri Richens_* : Kouri is now being accused of witness tampering. According to court records that were published on twitter by Defense Diaries ( twitter.com/defense_diaries/status/170305372988315… ), a six-page, handwritten letter was discovered in Kouri's cell, advising her mother to convince her brother to lie about his relationship with her deceased husband, and claim that he had witnessed Eric purchasing drugs from Mexico.
