I had the chance to visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps and reconnect with my old team leader after 13 years. Meeting his former team leader and corpsman from his first deployment was also a highlight. I got to see remarkable historic firearms, such as the Hall Rifle, as well as the flag raised on Iwo Jima and PFC Mawhinny's rifle, with which he achieved 103 kills. It was an unforgettable experience, and we ended the day by closing out Tun Tavern, which, amusingly, closes at 4 pm for obvious reasons.

Mount Vernon was an amazing event! I cannot wait to do it again (even in the rain). Here’s some photos from the weekend to showcase not just the battle but also the fireside commodity shared.
