On the plains of the Maasai mara,
Two cheetahs out on the hunt,
Trailing the prey, they run with grace,
Intent focus on wining the race.
The lone Topi Antelope leaps ahead,
A wild beauty, agile and fast
Unable to shake off its impeding fate
The cheetahs pounce on their prey
A display of raw power and speed
Suspended in the air, a dance of death
In this grim battle for survival
One wins and other loses its breath,
But such is nature's way and law,
The victor celebrate their victory,
Feast on their prey with great glory,
As the sun sets in the Maasai-mara sky,
The cycle of life continues, no questions asked why.

April 1st is day with great significance. On the same day in 1973 Project Tiger was inaugurated at Corbett Tiger Reserve, Uttarakhand. Starting from them until now, we've all come a long way. Once a dream is now a reality - 'Tigers are thriving' and protecting our forests from all sorts of perils. Together let's work for a better tomorrow.
