Jury selection begins today in lower Manhattan in the case of 26 year old Daniel Penny, a Marine who is accused of manslaughter in the death of Jordan Neely, a homeless man who was acting aggressively and threatening to kill people in a NYC subway car, and was found to have synthetic cannabinoids in his system. Penny, with the help of other passengers, restrained Neely until the train reached the next station. There is video of the incident. Opening statements are slated to begin the second week of November. The trial will not be televised. Is Penny a hero or a killer? Here's an overview of the case:
