NEW TO DIFFICULT AIRWAY MANAGEMENT
The ultimate endotracheal tube(ETT) to INTUBATE THROUGH A SUPRA GLOTTIC AIRWAY (SGA) OVER A FIBRE OPTIC BRONCHOSCOPE(FOB) or for AWAKE FIBRE OPTIC NASAL INTUBATION
- extra long (size 7 ID is 50cm) allows placement below the cords in large patients
- extra long allows easy removal of the SGA over the ETT without interruption of ventilation and FOB may remain in ETT while SGA is removed
-cut to size to reduce dead space after SGA is removed
-connector supplied to reconnect the ETT should the SGA need to be replaced before extubation
-extra long line connecting cuff to pilot balloon allows pilot balloon to train behind proximal end of ETT when SGA is removed
-available in PVC and flexible reinforced tubing

Question: Do older cardiac surgical patients with preoperative cognitive impairment have an increased risk of adverse postoperative outcomes?
Findings: After cardiac surgery, preoperative cognitive impairment is associated with an increased risk for postoperative delirium, major bleeding, and a longer length of hospital/intensive care unit (ICU) stay in the older population.
Meaning: Routine neurocognitive screening in the preoperative setting may help identify at-risk individuals among older cardiac surgical patients, and its feasibility should be assessed in future studies.
