Nintendo said it expects to sell 15 million units of the Switch 2 in the fiscal year ending March 2026. The new console is due to go on sale in June.

Airbus and over 90 other European companies and lobby groups have called on the European Commission to create a sovereign infrastructure fund to boost public investment and bolster the region’s autonomy in the tech sector.

:arrow_right: In a March 14 letter addressed to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Executive Vice President Henna Virkkunen, the signatories stressed the need for Europe’s technological self-reliance as it confronts a “stark reality” following “developments in U.S./EU relations.”

The global trade war triggered by U.S. President Donald Trump shows no sign of abating, with tit-for-tat tariffs hammering major economies, tanking stock markets and dimming growth prospects.

➡️ Direct impact from tariffs, like the U.S. levies on steel and aluminum imports, have a minimal impact on the Middle East, economists say. The Gulf region, for instance, accounted for roughly 16% of U.S. aluminum imports in 2024.

➡️ There are also immediate costs to countries whose currencies are pegged to the dollar – Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain.

Greenlanders are heading to the polls on Tuesday (11 Mar) in a pivotal parliamentary election, shaped by the perennial debate over independence from overseer Denmark — and by U.S. President Donald Trump’s ambitions to get hold of the island “one way or the other.”

➡️ Copenhagen has repeatedly insisted that Greenland is “not for sale” and that it will remain a part of its kingdom, yet it’s wary of the momentum behind independence and has been quiet ahead of the election, wary of appearing to dictate how islanders should vote.

➡️ Four of the Arctic island’s six main political parties support independence from Denmark, but they don’t want to be a part of the U.S. either.

European allies put on a united front over the weekend, as they scrambled to both bolster support for a flagging Ukraine and to build bridges between Kyiv and Washington after a blistering spat at the White House.

➡️ European leaders met in London for a hastily convened summit on Sunday, looking to come up with proposals that would keep Europe in the midst of any future peace talks.

➡️ British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said after the gathering on Sunday that a “number” of allies had signed up to a “coalition of the willing” that was ready to commit peacekeeping troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace deal.
