In this video I provide a critical analysis of the popular spiritual concept of the third eye. I discuss its history in eastern mysticism, its eventual attachment to the pineal gland, and debunk the actual significance of this gland in general using research from prominent psychedelic neuropharmacologist Dr. David E. Nichols. I go over New Age myths regarding the Eye of Ra, the pinecone, and the misappropriation of scripture regarding "Christ Consciousness" and any Biblical justification for the third eye.
