Mythili Dance Academy (MDA) is the oldest and premier institution of Bharatanatyam in Prosper, Frisco TX and in Peoria IL
- MDA was established by Guru Rama Suresh, 34 years back to promote & preserve the ancient art form of Bharatanatyam a classical art form that has been practiced in India for 3000 years. Rama Suresh is the founder & Artistic Director of MDA. MDA offers a disciplined approach to practice sessions & expressional dance form including theory to its aspiring & motivated students, the way it was instilled in Rama by her Gurus - the doyens of Thanjavur tradition of Bharatanatyam - Guru Thanjai Arunachalam Pillai & Thanjai Vasudevan Pillai. MDA’s uniqueness is giving huge Indian themed Broadway style collaborative shows directed by Rama with a team of 120 dancers from different cultures & donating for a good cause. The total funds Rama has collected for charitable causes thus far through her shows is about $678,428
