Today I have been called a "close minded" person because I used the phrase "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence" in regards to levitation. Now I understand that using this phrase is not the best way to engage in a fruitful conversation, but what struck me is how someone who believes in the supernatural dubs the "non believers" as "close minded".

This also reminds me of a friend who is a scientist and his dad - a big believer in ghosts, alien abduction, you name it. My friend is frustrated because his dad keeps calling him a closes minded person. Meanwhile his dad does not question himself, has very conservative and radical views. But apparently because he believes in ghosts - that's his definition of open mindedness.

What do you think about this? Are you "close minded"?

I got feedback that "Critical Thinkers" would be a better channel name than "Practical Critical Thinkers" and I am tempted to agree. What do you think?

It's time for Feedback Friday! As many of you know, I love good feedback. With this channel still being new I really want to know: what do you like most about it so far? What's missing? Is there something you don't like? Hit me with everything! The more feedback there will be, the quicker we'll spread more critical thinking.

Also, one specific question: I've got suggestions to name the channel "Critical Thinkers" instead of "Practical Critical Thinkers". I think it may be a good call since pronouncing PRACTICAL CRITICAL THINKERS is a bit tough on the tongue. Also, maybe Critical Thinkers is more catchy? What do you think?

I'll soon be part of the biggest free online conference in history. The Embodiment Conference features hundreds of well known speakers across the whole globe from fields of martial arts and other body movement related practices. In my section I'll be speaking on the subject "Does Aikido Need To Change For The Modern Age". It will go live on October 23rd at 12:00 noon UTC. I'll talk some and then ask questions :)

If you're intereted to join, check out the Embodiment Conference here: theembodimentconference.org/#...The website features the whole schedule where you can also check out who else is on and even make you own schedule so you'd know when you person of interest is live. WimHof is on speaker list too for example :)

Looking forward to see you there and to catch up!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to release a talk together with Mark Walsh where we talked about the abusive culture aspect of Yoga. This time I am happy to share a brand new talk where I was a guest at Marks podcast :) We had a really good time talking about honesty in your journey, the search for truth, realism, denial, aikido, MMA, testing what you’re doing and reinventing oneself.

If you're interested to give a listen to the talk: embodiedfacilitator.com/268-martial-arts-journey-w…

My journey to create positive impact outside of martial arts is slowly taking shape.

I do have to admit that in the beginning of it I started off to big and vague and I wanted the end result to be my start. With time I realized that I need to start small, no matter what achievements I've made prior to it and that I need to be very clear on what I am working on right now, so that people could decide whether they are interested or not.

As my first important step I started to work on simple, but effective methods to develop new habits and skills. I believe that the best way to inspire and to lead is by doing something yourself and that is exactly what I decided to focus on these days.

In this video, if you are interested, you'll see how I am using the 2 minute rule to develop new skills, some of them - outside of my comfort zone. I hope that it will inspire and motivate more people to try it out as well and seek for taking small steps to make long-term changes :)
