SMS For Location, Vol. 6 is OUT: moonshinefr.lnk.to/SMS6 đŠ
SMS For Location, Vol. 6 is our boldest release yetâa 20-track mixtape that connects the dots between the club sounds of the African diaspora and the global underground. From the heavy pulse of Gqom with DJ Lag, to the high-speed intensity of Singeli, the groove of Amapiano and the emotional weight of Hip-Hop and R&B, this project is a celebration of movement, identity and sound without borders.
Weâve brought together an all-star crewâDJ Lag, Pierre Kwenders, UNIIQU3, Branko, Vanyfox, Black Rave Culture, and many moreâto create something that feels both deeply rooted and future-facing. Each track is a story, a rhythm, a memory in motion.
This isnât just a mixtapeâitâs a sonic map of our community, a love letter to the dance floors that raised us, and an invitation to connect through sound. From South and East Africa to North America and Europe, this is Moonshine in its purest form: radical, joyful, and borderless.
To accompany the release, Moonshine presents 'ZaĂŻre Space Program', a forthcoming feature film directed by HervĂ© â Coltanâ Kalongo and co-directed by Nizar Saleh Mohamed, Pierre Kwenders and Felix Brochier. The film follows Moonshine core members Pierre Kwenders and HervĂ© Kalongo as they travel to Kinshasa with their collective and encounter Jean-Patrice Keka, an independent Congolese aerospace engineer leading a self-funded space program.
What unfolds is a poetic and genre-bending reflection on pan-African creativity, utopia, and the role of science and art in shaping new futures. Set at the crossroads of documentary, road movie, and speculative fiction, ZaĂŻre Space Program features members of the Moonshine collective including San Farafina, Akantu and MC RedBul, and immerses viewers in Kinshasaâs buzzing alternative scene. From the very beginning, Moonshine has built a reputation in the electronic music scene through a bold visual identity that authentically reflects the collectiveâs story and sonic signature.
Thanks for listening. Letâs dance.
