I've done a thing! Well along with the other calendar I've produced an A4 Bird Photography calendar.
Available now with free UK delivery - I've even dropped the price as it's that Black Friday thing going on at the minute! Available at leighw.photos/a4-format-2025-bird-photography-cale…
Would help the channel out massively if you'd consider one - plenty of time for a quick Christmas present if you fancy 😉

Fantastic photo walk in Cannock Chase this morning with ‪@SteveMorris1964‬and Tony Serzin. Challenging rain but I think we made the best of it. Those silver birch were just glorious though!
May have to visit again and explore a little further at some point!

Looks like the weekend of the 12th is the favourite for the photo walk in Cannock Chase. My personal preference is going to be the 12th not the 13th (due to time constraints on the Sunday) so shall we do the Saturday Morning then?
If you could send an email to contact@leighw.photos with "Photo Walk" as the subject I will get back to you with the details of where to meet and what time.
Will see what the weather decides to throw at us but it'll be a great outing regardless!

So for those who are interested in joining me on the walk through the woods I've worked out a few dates that might work out. If you'd like to come along, vote for the date you'd prefer and let me know in the comments if the Saturday or Sunday would be preferable and we'll try and tie the day and date in to get it organised.
I'll post an update once the poll is complete but I'll let it run until Friday this week (20th September).
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Out in a hide today filming a day spent photographing kingfishers amongst other things! Great to meet ‪@MikeLaneFRPS‬ too even if the kingfisher did wait a good 20 minutes after you left to turn up!
Video coming soon!

Been doing a fair bit of wildlife photography recently, mostly following a purchase that took some saving up for!
The Big White has arrived - the Olympus 150-400mm f/4.5 Pro, the whitest, most expensive micro four-thirds lens available to date!
Would anyone be interested in a purely wildlife video covering my experiences with this absolute beast of a lens?
I will do a full review at some point, but if a first impressions video would be interesting especially my comparison to the 300mm f/4 then let me know!

Been out enjoying some amazing light today with the OM-1 MK2 and 12-100mm f/4 Pro lens. Video coming soon on why this is my go to lens for landscape photography.

Northern Lights video now live - what a night!
All my favourite images in a slideshow for you - will we ever see this again in the UK in my lifetime? I'm not sure but I'm so glad I captured it!

Some stunning scenes last night out photographing one of the best aurora displays the UK has ever had!
My first time seeing it since the 80s but what a stunning experience!
I may be slightly tired today but so worth it!
All handheld with the OM-1 and Leica 9mm f/1.7 - an amazing combination! And these are just phone edited JPGs - wonder how good the raws will come out???
Anyone else manage to capture the Northern Lights last night?
