Here's an old photo of the Quincy Mine in northern Michigan. This mine produced 424,000 tons of copper over it's life time and at one time had the deepest shaft in the world of over 9000 feet deep.

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July. In keeping with the spirit of Old Lost Mines, here is an old photo of the the Fourth Of July Mine in Colorado. The Fourth of July Mine sat at an elevation of over 8,000 feet and was close to the town of Eldora Colorado.
If you've never been to Bisbee Arizona, it's actually an old mine town that you end up staying longer than you planned. We stayed in the RV park there for around 3 days. It's a neat town and touring the old Queen Mine was interesting. Lots of quaint old shops.
Here's an old photo of a place called Brewery Gulch. It was close to Bisbee Arizona and as you will see in the video, it served a different kind of purpose.

I always liked this old photo of the very early days of Deadwood. This is a town that grew very fast and went from a few hundred to the thousands in a matter of months. Deadwood saw people from all walks of life, from hard working miners to fast gun slinging villains and everyone in between.
Be sure to watch this weeks video about Deadwood South Dakota: https://youtu.be/A3Lzj8oEmYU
Guess how many ounces of gold the largest gold nugget ever found weighed to date? To find out how if you guessed correctly, watch this video: https://youtu.be/FBeWK_HvlH8

Here's a picture of the old mine town of South Pass City Wyoming. I'd like to take my metal detector up onto that hill in the foreground and check out some of those crevices.
This week's video is about the mines and the town of South Pass City. It's a bit longer than most of the videos I do but there is an interesting story about one of the mines. You can watch it here --> https://youtu.be/Nn5M-AFaiPQ and if like these kinds of videos .... why no subscribe.
Whenever we see pictures of old dredges, there is usually a body of water close by like a river or large drainage area. However the dredge in this photo is taken pretty much in the middle of a desert in Nevada. The dredge was owned by the Natomas Mining Company and was used to mine gold close to Manhattan Nevada where the elevation was 7000 feet.
Check out this weeks video about the mines and this old town right here---> https://youtu.be/v3WctoBIIDQ
The old copper town of Jerome Arizona sits up top of Cleopatra Hill. This old town is not far from Camp Verde and Cottonwood Arizona. I went to visit this old town and did a video of the drive into town on the twisty winding road going up the hill.
You can watch the drive on this video and hear the story about this old town at the same time. https://youtu.be/AlAPEp9W2PE

Please note we try to be as accurate as possible but in many cases facts and figures have gotten lost over the many years. Old photos are very hard to come by also, so many of the same images are used in various videos. Times and dates get skewed over the years also, as do people and names. Remember, these videos are all about the story and are produced for entertainment purposes only.
