EVEREST MYSTERY POLL QUESTION: You’re in Base Camp on Mount Everest. A summit window is coming in the next few days and it's uncertain how many chances you'll get to go for that summit which you've dreamed of for many years. With 1000 clients and high-altitude guides and Sherpa all waiting their turn, you know that going early could mean bottlenecks and traffic jams. But, waiting might mean missing your chances altogether. What would you do? PLEASE CHOOSE your answer and PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT in the section below.

This poll is about what's actually happening RIGHT NOW, and ties right into what we cover in our latest video on overcrowding. Please take a few minutes to watch, Mount Everest Will STILL Be Overcrowded in 2025 (WAY Too Many Permits + Dangers This Causes): https://youtu.be/xUL0F5boUZQ

EVEREST MYSTERY POLL QUESTION: "Are Sherpas Being Used as Bait on 8000ers?" Rima Sherpa and Ngima Tashi Sherpa were tragically killed in an avalanche on Annapurna last week. Their bodies were recovered with the help of Recco reflectors sewn into their clothing. Mountaineer Flor Cuenca, aka Flower Wayta Mendoq Hirkawarmi, who knew them personally as close friends, has spoken out, saying that Sherpas are being used as "human bait" to test unstable slopes at times of day when no one should be in that section of the mountain—meanwhile, clients and expedition operators push for fast ascents to move quickly from one peak to the next.

As the commercialization of 8000-meter peaks increases, who bears the most responsibility for this pressure and unthinkable human loss? Please choose your answer and LEAVE A COMMENT in the section below.

EVEREST MYSTERY POLL QUESTION: As featured in a recent video (linked below), George Mallory’s boot was observed to have tiny gray pebbles wedged in, just above the sole. These pebbles appear to be gray limestone, which is consistent with the type of rock near Everest's summit. Some sleuths want to analyze these pebbles under an electron microscope to confirm their origin. But even rocks near the summit can end up lower on the mountain. So, what do you think we'd actually learn if the rocks were found to be gray limestone? Choose your answer and be sure to leave a comment in the section below.

AWESOME FILM ALERT! Inspiration In the Shadow of Everest with Darwin & Rad (Added Insight from Yours Truly)

Hey friends and Everest Mystery channel members, two extremely talented friends of mine - both adventurers and filmmakers - recently published a documentary on one of their YouTube channels. And....HOLY SH*****T it's good!

Climbing 20K ft in the Shadow of EVEREST is a testament to friendship, adventure and facing our doubts and fears....as well as an immersion into the absolute beauty of the Khumbu Region of Nepal. Nic (Darwin) visited me last August to do some interviews and to have a couple cool adventures. Some of our conversation was used in piecing this absolutely gorgeous and thoughtful film together.

The documentary features a first-person journey to the unknown with Nic Darwin Rakestraw of ‪@DarwinOnthetrail‬ and Chris Rad Carter of ‪@chriscartermedia‬ (ad)venturing to Nepal to climb Island Peak, a 20,000 foot/6100 meter 'trekking' peak in the shadow of Everest. Let it be known that Rad himself officiated my wedding a couple summers ago. So, you can understand that I find him to be one of the most thoughtful and insightful human beings on the planet. Nic ain't half bad himself! :)

Please take the time to watch this insanely beautiful film. And PLEASE, if you do watch, be absolutely sure you LEAVE THEM A COMMENT on their video and let them know that Thom sent you! I guarantee they'll both appreciate that you took the time to watch.

This wonderful film will fill your day with good vibrations.

Peace be with you :)

-Thom Dharma
