I believe this to my core, and yet, I still struggle to live it. Boundaries are hard. Saying no can be uncomfortable. But so is living in a chronic state of overwhelm as a result of trying to do more than is humanly possible.
The key for ADHD'ers is to get really good at identifying genuine interests vs. fleeting distractions. Personally, I will let an idea percolate for a few days before taking any action. Only the genuinely interesting ideas tend to stick around more than a day.
For my multipotentialites and ambitious ADHD'ers....
There's a cost to wanting to be, do, and have "all the things". It's the emotional weight of focusing on all the things you haven't yet achieved, leaving you feeling like you're not measuring up. Makes you wonder if your desires worth the cost of living with a sense of disappointment without them.
Hey Ya'll 👋👋. For those of you ADHD'ers who are also creators or entrepreneurs, but struggle with consistency, go check out the interview I just did with Ozeal from @CreatorFactor. There's tons of actionable advice on getting started and staying on track with your goals. https://youtu.be/KXRdiZYN8jE
Do you suspect you have ADHD, but you haven't been formally tested? Check out the video @russellbarkleyphd2023 posted today. It's a simple assessment (not to be confused with an official diagnosis) that can help you gauge whether or not you are truly impacted by the disorder or not.
If you score high on his assessment, then you might want to get formally diagnosed. It's a great video, so I encourage you to share with with anyone who might also doubt the struggles you're going through. https://youtu.be/wV-Z_9e1SXg?si=OY_cN...
Hey Ya'll,
Do you guys use any kind of wearable trackers? I wear two, a fitbit, and more recently, I got a RingConn, which is a much cheaper alternative to the Oura Ring. I got this ring because among other things, it tracks your stress in any given moment, which is something I'm personally trying to work on, and what gets measured gets managed.
Anyhoo... I just noticed that they're having a $42 off promo right now, so wanted to give you the head's up. If this is something you're curious about, I would recommend it (paid for with my own money).
This is an affiliate link, btw, but not at all sponsored. I just like the product. hi.switchy.io/Lf0x
@mrmoneymustache was instrumental in my money journey. As an ADHD'er I struggled with impulsive spending for a long time, but something he said changed everything about how I see money + spending. I hope sharing this little insight might do the same for you, too.
So many of you in my ADHD community are interested in coaching - either as a client, or as a new career option (<- as if we don't have enough of those lol).
Anyway, I created this video to answer your questions about what I've learned about all of you who come to coaching, and also, what it's taught me as a coach (and a fellow ADHD'er).
I hope it's insightful and helps you feel a little less alone in your own ADHD experience.
If there's one transformation story I can't shut up about, it's my own - relating to productivity and just staying consistent with something. Here's how I did it...
Hey ADHD Fam! I'm thinking about starting a second channel about entrepreneurship for ADHD'ers and the ADHDish. Why? Because I love to talk about biz, but I don't think ya'll are that interested in small biz content because when I do create biz content, it doesn't perform well. What do you think?
I'm an ADHD life + business coach with a mind that works faster than a quick-dry nail polish. I have figured out how to master my ADHD brain through LOTS of inner work, external structure and getting real about who I am, and what I'm here to do, and I get a thrill out of helping other women like me, do the same.
Whether you have ADHD or you're just a little "ADD-ish", the end result is the same - not enough focus and way too many plates spinning in the air. I've spent a lifetime collecting tools and strategies for coping with my own focus and follow-through issues, and I share them all here. From wellness & entrepreneurship to minimizing and simplifying your work and life, I cover it all through the lens of thriving with ADHD.
