Have you turned on fan funding features now that YouTube has lowered the subs & hours for monetization requirements?

Wanna make YouTube your job?
If you want to go full-time and make an actual living from your channel, treat it seriously from the start.

When choosing your niche, research what makes the most money in ad revenue.
Consider what knowledge you have that you can share in your videos…but could also be packaged as an online course or digital download.

Then set a schedule for making and editing weekly videos. And get going!

If you get inspired from other people's blunders... then this post is for you!

We recently decided to level up our livestreams on one of my other channels
with the new-to-us streaming software. The first two minutes of our new YouTube
show were just a comedy of figuring things out on the fly!

Instead of "one for the blooper reel" we basically had the ENTIRE blooper reel.

Gotta love livestreaming!

We didn't exactly come off as slick YouTubing professionals.

But you know what? We're not slick!

So we just laughed at ourselves and kept on going.

I'm not sure if we should leave this up on the channel or not!
But if it's still there, you can watch it here:

I'm posting this purely as inspiration, in case you're thinking about leveling up your livestreams as well.

If we can do it (barely), then you definitely can!!

If you’ve been thinking about starting a YouTube channel for ages but you’re still not doing it,
what’s holding you back?

No camera?
No worries, just use your phone — i do!

No lighting?
Use daylight - find your favorite window.

No tripod?
Set up your camera on a table, a pile of books, anything that's semi-stable :)

The important thing is… just get started.
The more you do it, the more you’ll improve.

Do you know YouTube will tell you when you’re eligible for monetization? Check out the EARN link on the left side of your channel Studio. That’s where you can sign up to get notified! YT will send you an email you've reached the eligibility thresholds for YPP.

Ever wondered about fan funding features on YouTube?
Not even sure what they are?
Here's some official verbiage for ya:

“Fan funding includes these monetization features:

CHANNEL MEMBERSHIPS:

Your members make recurring monthly payments in exchange for members-only perks that you offer.

SUPER CHAT & SUPER STICKERS:

Your fans pay to get their messages or animated images highlighted in live chat streams.

SUPER THANKS:

Your fans pay to view a fun animation and have their message highlighted in your Shorts and long form video’s comments section.”

Read more about it here:

Do you have a channel that's just not growing?
Let's get real for a minute - have you been posting regularly?
Some people on this platform
are saying that’s tired advice.

But the thing is… it’s true.

DO THE REPS
GET CONSISTENT.
POST AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.

And you know what? I gotta take that advice myself!!

WHO'S WITH ME?
LET’S GOOOO!

YouTube has relaxed the rules a bit when it comes to cursing and ad revenue, but inquiring minds want to know: do you swear in your videos?

Trying to choose your niche? Ask yourself these 3 questions:

Do you have a hobby or interest that makes you completely lose track of time while you’re doing it?

What can you talk about for hours?

What do you search for and learn about online?

Are you taking advantage of the community post feature here on youtube?
If you’re a small channel and you want to grow, consider growing some community!

Posts can take the form of polls, plain text, images and more. You can post them instantly or you can even schedule them. It’s a great way to connect with both your subs and new viewers.

Community posts take up a LOT of space in the home feed and BONUS -- They have a subscribe button right at the top.
