Working on an upcoming episode and this has me very curious. Revelation 5:5-6 "Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah...I saw one like a slaughtered lamb." How is the lamb also the lion? The lamb arrives for the sacrifice, the lion returns to rule the nations...
Follow along on X as I am often using that to file away clips and create a rough draft.

For two thousand years Christians have been looking to Jesus, the son of David, and rightly so, he is David's “seed according to the flesh” (Rom 1:3). But this begs the question, “where is this King?” (Matt 2:2).
This is of course the main distinction between Christianity and Judaism, forming a unique relationship between these two people groups. Christians point to Jesus and say, “there is our king!” And for Jews who have rejected Jesus he does not look kingly.
And this may be at the heart of the misunderstanding. Jesus comes first as a son of Joseph, he comes again as the son of David (Deut 33:17). First, he must be betrayed by his brothers so he can deliver them from the famine and death. At the fullness of time, he will come as ruler of the kings on earth (Rev. 1:5).
I have been enjoying the work of David Mitchell @BrightMorningStar and @DrWarrenGage on this subject.

No live stream tonight: But we’re having good conversation on this last podcast episode. I think we have good reason to hope in what God is doing. Let me know what you think if you haven’t already left a comment.

A podcast channel exploring the wonder of theology lost to modern culture. Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Russell Brand, and others often touch the surface of how theology and spirituality impact society. On this podcast we take those conversations to deeper, and more meaningful places. Thanks for being here as we highlight the Biblical Christian worldview as it shows up in unexpected places.
