「ＵＤアクティブステアリング」は、従来の油圧式ステアリングギアの上部に新たに搭載した、電気モーターによる支援機能です。電気モーターに付随する電子制御ユニット（ECU）が、１秒間に約２０００回の頻度で様々なセンサーから運転環境を感知して走行方向とドライバーの意図を判断し、あらゆる走行条件下において、ドライバーの運転操作をアクティブにサポートします。後退・右左折・旋回などの低速走行時には取り回しが軽く、速度が上がるにつれてステアリングの安定感が増していきます。また積み荷や路面状況、横風などにも左右されない安定したステアリングを実現し、疲労軽減と安全に寄与します。

UD Active Steering 5 benefits explained
UD Active Steering features an electric motor mounted above the hydraulic steering gear to provide additional torque when necessary. The electronic control unit (ECU) mounted on the electric motor receives input 2,000 times per second from sensors throughout the truck, monitoring the driving environment and the driver's own actions. This system control adds appropriate torque to the weight of the steering wheel, providing precise and stable steering irrespective of speed, cargo, and road conditions. The ease and precision of steering helps reduce driver fatigue and make roads safer.

最新の電子制御式ステアリング「UDアクティブステアリング」の操作性をユニークに表現するため、大型トラック「クオン」の後部に大筆を設置。巨大な書を地面に描き出すことに成功しました。
この動画では、「UDアクティブステアリング」の操作性が、広大な地面にトラックを自在に走らせ、繊細で大胆、かつ正確さが求められる書道の筆の動きをかなえ、巨大な書を大胆に描き出します。指１本でも操作可能な軽いステアリング、高い安定性、自然なハンドル戻りで、ドライバーが意のままに大型トラックを操る一体感を軽快に臨場感たっぷりに伝えます。世界でたった１台の「筆トラ」の活躍をぜひご覧ください。これはまさにUDアクティブステアリングがなければ実現が難しかった挑戦です。
世界最大級のトラック書道は、現在、注目を集める書道家・鈴木曉昇氏とのコラボレーションで実現し、書道家の息遣い、巧みな筆さばき、自在な所作――書道家と筆の一体感を、ドライバーとトラックで再現しました。
In conjunction with the launch of UD Active Steering in Japan on July 1, UD Trucks demonstrated the steering precision of this technology through the medium of calligraphy, creating the world’s largest KANJI (Japanese character) ever drawn by a truck. A heavy-duty Quon equipped with UD Active Steering drew the character for “technique”, or WAZA in Japanese.
The Giant Masterpiece was created in collaboration with renown calligrapher, Gyousyou Suzuki. A giant brush was mounted to the rear of the UD Active Steering-equipped Quon. On Suzuki’s direction, the truck drew the character, stroke by stroke, with mastery akin to the delicate and deliberate hand and brush movements of the calligrapher himself. The ability to steer the truck with such a light touch, even by a single finger, made this feat possible.
