“Keep yourselves far from envy, because it eats up and takes away good actions, like the fire that eats up and burns wood” — Prophet Muhammad (s). Envy arises when we feel resentful or unhappy about someone else's blessings—whether it’s a friend's high achievement, someone’s beauty, or their intelligence. This harmful emotion not only poisons our hearts but also distracts us from focusing on our own growth and good deeds. The more we dwell on envy, the more we risk falling into despair, hindering our ability to appreciate the unique blessings in our lives.

Moreover, envy reflects ingratitude toward the countless blessings Allah (SWT) has granted us. Instead of being grateful for what we have, we fixate on what we lack, forgetting that everything we possess is part of Allah’s divine wisdom and mercy. This mindset leads to a life filled with dissatisfaction and misery.

To combat envy, let us strive to cultivate gratitude by consciously reflecting on the gifts Allah (SWT) has bestowed upon us. Gratitude transforms our perspective, fostering a sense of contentment and happiness. When we focus on the good in our lives and trust in Allah's plans, we free ourselves from envy and pave the way for inner peace and fulfillment.
