Dr. Pieter Uvin studied medicine at KU Leuven (Belgium) where he obtained his medical degree in 2010. He then started his urology residency there, which he completed in 2017. Parallel to his clinical training, he conducted research into molecular sensors of bladder pathophysiology, with which he obtained his PhD in Biomedical Sciences at KU Leuven in 2015, with Prof. Dirk De Ridder as supervisor.
After his residency in urology, he did a fellowship focused on robotic surgery and uro-oncology at OLV Aalst under the supervision of Prof. Alex Mottrie. He then followed an additional fellowship with focus on laser treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (HoLEP) with Dr. Karin Lehrich at the Vivantes Auguste-Viktoria-Klinikum in Berlin.
Since 2018, Dr. Pieter Uvin has been strengthening the Urological Center North West Flanders in Bruges (AZ Sint-Jan Bruges and AZ Sint-Lucas Bruges). He mainly focuses on the treatment of prostate and kidney cancer and benign prostate pathology.
