Hospitality icon and global educationist, Dr Suborno Bose has paved the way for a New Normal, improved and enriched hospitality education that is set to work in close association with other industries in future. Moving with the times, he sensed the pulse of the industry and he took several extraordinary and futuristic initiatives that benefit students of IIHM and the industry as a whole. He started with SAHAS, an entrepreneurship cell in IIHM that was created to support students with new start up ideas. Dr Bose has given hospitality education a different dimension with the unique FIIHM programme. Through this initiative, over 150 experts and well-known hospitality professionals from India and across the world have been inducted as Distinguished Fellows of the IIHM. Keeping in mind the need for research and growth in this sector, he inaugurated the IIHM Global Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research on World Tourism Day in the presence of the Sec-Gen, Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO.
