Does prayer help us live better? Is community worship rooted in evolutionary biology? Does spirituality help enable coping mechanisms against depression, anxiety, stress, etc? How do the different elicitations of spirituality from drugs, meditation, music, and meaning in life correlate with one another? The material world does not sustain our innate need for spirituality and meaning. I am a PhD student in Psychology at the University of Houston who specializes in the area of spirituality and how it relates to well-being. Take a journey with me as I try to make sense of the abstract and understand how the Divine relates to ourselves, each other and to the world.
I also share my own subjective experiences (as well as others) and how truth may manifest in ways that cannot be quantified by the scientific method.
