Stone by stone we build the wall
But greed consumes, the lies are sown
And seeds of ruin soon are grown
The hungry cry, the children fade
The kings still feast on what we’ve made
The ashes tell what came before
But still we march to yet more war
The past is written in the ground
In broken bones that still resound
We swore we’d learn, we swore we’d change
But history calls, it stays the same
We chase the gold, we chase the crown
But every rise will tumble down
The lessons lost, the blood is cheap
The rivers red, the silence deep
The bells of mourning start to ring
While tyrants dance and soldiers sing
A cycle carved in flesh and flame
The more it shifts, it stays the same
The scars are carved in blackened stone
Yet still we march to the unknown
We swore we’d break the endless chain
But all we’ve built will fall again
The towers climb into the sky
But crumble fast as years go by
The hands of time will not be still
They grind us down, they bend our will
The famine spreads, the war returns
The lessons fade, the planet burns
The crowd repeats the ancient song
Of kings who ruled, of empires gone
The earth remembers every name
But writes them all in ash and flame
We swore the future would be new
But time has shown it’s never true
its who we are, who weve been
who were bound to be again
we made the fire, we brought the rain
and the suffering and the pain
we brought the war, we made it all
we built it up, now it will fall
same as before, it will again
were just blowing in the wind
