Hello all,
Buzz1151 sent me an RCA radio from the US to restore earlier this year. At the end of that video series I sent him an Aussie radio to restore. It was built by a local radio company in Brisbane, just up the road.
Buzz has put up part 1 on his YouTube channel if you would like to see what I sent him (link below)
Cheers everyone, take care out there.
David

Dear subscribers,
I recently presented a video in which I opened and unpacked a package from Martin in Chicago.
I have received news that Martin passed away on the 4th of September after a short illness. Martin and I conversed by email for several years. Nothing in particular, mainly about radios but general conversations as well. I found him to be kind and generous.
I wish to convey my condolences to Martin's family and friends and members of the Antique Radio Club of Illinois of which he is a member.

Dear subscribers, Thank you for a wonderful YouTube year, I hope you enjoyed my video content as much as I enjoyed presenting it.
A special thanks to Graham the Radio Cruncher for a very enjoyable collaboration video we did on the Hacker Mayflower II generously donated by GT Geoff, also thanks to Manuel Caldeira, Blitz Roehre, Buzz1151 and The radio Mechanic whom have all contributed directly or indirectly, not forgetting Mr Carlson for his instructional content.
There are even more Australian YouTube radio channels online now which gives people a wider view of the worldwide radio industry of old.
To give northern hemisphere folk an idea of our Christmas there is a link below to a video explaining it. In general:
It will be hot on Christmas day although this year only 27C (80F) in Brisbane but humidity will be highish.
We will eat Christmas dinner inside or outside depending on the conditions, Dinner will be cold meat and prawns with salad followed be a Pavlova for dessert. (Unlike in the US, the meat and salad are served at the same time)
We will eat at lunch time followed be gift exchange afterwards then coffee and mince pies while the kids play with their new toys.
Some family are staying overnight and we will watch a Christmas movie in the evening.
We normally go on a picnic in the kids play park the day after and have a sausage sizzle for lunch but unfortunately not this year.
The kids are on school holidays from about December 16th till early February. Most families head to the beach for holidays or interstate in this period.
Thank you everyone for your support in the last year and Karen and I wish you all the very best this holiday season and I hope to see you all next year for more Radio Adventures.

Dear Subscribers,
I am excited to announce that Part 2 of my Hacker Mayflower 2 Premiere screening will be on Saturday 6th August at 5:30 pm Queensland and 8:30 am London time.
The premiere screening of part 1 last Saturday was a huge success with up to 140 viewers watching.
Geoff, a subscriber in the UK has sent a Hacker radio for me to restore. He gave it to Graham the Radio Cruncher channel first to check over before sending it, Radio Cruncher made a video of the check, click the link below to watch his video.
A premier screening lets us all watch and experience a new video together in real time. A chat is included so you can chat with myself and hopefully Radio Cruncher as the video plays.
I hope you can join us and make it a fun and entertaining presentation.

Dear subscribers,
A quick note of thanks for a wonderful 2021, at least as far as my channel is concerned. Hopefully 2022 will be better as we overcome our current difficulties.
I have been asked about progress with my cancer treatment quite a bit, as I said originally, it isn't about me it is about men getting PSA tested, that being said, I will finish my radiation treatment in the first week of January and will know the results as the year progresses. The treatment has been pretty easy and except for the fatigue I am feeling pretty normal.
Thank you everyone who has asked after me and supported me through this, it has been heart-warming and I appreciate it more than I can express.
I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season and all the best for a more normal 2022.
(The attached drawing depicts a normal Christmas down-under π)
Thank you,
David Tipton

Hi all. I haven't been able to post a video this week or last week for that matter. My schedule has been hectic of late and I apologise for the delay. I 'HOPE' to get one out next week but there is no guarantee. I have posted a preview of my current project. Best wishes to everyone and please stay safe. (The backdrop in the preview was downloaded from the internet, I could never draw anything as good as thatπ)

Retired and looking for a hobby I settled on old valve radios. Now all I have to do is figure out how they work.
