someone requested this and i thought it'd be a good idea, so here's a big youtube playlist with every single tab video i've uploaded on my channel. i'm thinking this is handy for anyone who wants to discover some of the obscure stuff i've done on my channel but doesn't know where to start - now you can just hit shuffle on this big ol' playlist and go to town! i guarantee you'll find something dope within the first few tracks. you can find the ALL OF JSB playlist on my channel homepage, and also here:

i look at how often people ask as a barometer for when i need to give a reminder, and i’ve had like 4 or 5 in the last two days, so here’s one:
do NOT comment on my youtube videos with song requests - if you’re not a Patreon supporter, it’s a hard no, and it makes it unlikely i’ll do that song in the future at all. i’m not a human jukebox, so unless you want to get on the Patreon list, please focus on enjoying the great songs i already spend a lot of time choosing for you :)))

heads up, the MF DOOM series is going on hiatus, i'm thinking for a few weeks at least. i know there's a contingent of viewers that really enjoy those videos, but the numbers are unfortunately telling me that the interest isn't quite there to sustain a weekly series over the next few months.
so, i'm going to give the videos a break for a bit and maybe when they continue, i'll do them in shorter bursts, maybe a Special Herbs volume at a time. apologies if this is disappointing news - i love making those videos so it bums me out too that they're not as popular as i think they should be. oh well, so goes it sometimes on youtube... all fun and games. :)

hey friends, just wanted to drop a quick note to say that if you notice i’m less responsive than usual in the comments and on patreon, it’s because i’m away on a family holiday to Japan for the next few weeks. for peeps on patreon, i apologize in advance, that does mean that any issues with files that require me to access the originals can’t be resolved until i’m back. but hopefully there won’t be any such problems :)
here are a couple of pics. first, a quick spot of crate digging at Tower Records Shibuya (where i’m pretty sure i was the ONLY nerdy white guy not holding a stack of city pop records lol), and some beautiful vintage Fenders i saw just hanging on the racks at a guitar shop that i could never in a million years afford.
videos have been queued up, so there will be no interruption in the JSB feed :) hope you enjoy the videos, and see you when i’m back!

hey folks, i'm doing a long promised transcription livestream tomorrow going over my process when i'm transcribing/tabbing, software i use, tips, etc.etc. if people have any other questions, feel free to pop in and ask them. whether it's about my setup, bass, music theory, or life in general, it's all good.

before people ask, i don't think i'm going to do the new Vulf track "New Beastly" :) if you are a longtime JSB viewer you know i'm not really a big solo guy, so unfortunately it's just not something i'd find all that enjoyable to learn.
i'll keep an ear out for any other tracks from the new album though!

hey folks, sad day at jsb - the Marlena Shaw video has been blocked by the copyright owners and i've already had my dispute rejected.
the individual videos are still up on my channel, so i've put them into a playlist you can find in my homepage, in case you liked the album and wanted to learn any songs from it.
this single video going viral made the channel grow about 4k subs in a month - it was starting to feel like all the hard work i've put into this for four years was finally starting to pay off. my videos don't usually ever get picked up by the algorithm, and already since this got blocked last night, every number in my YT stats has plummeted, so i'm gonna need your help to keep the channel afloat :) please keep watching, liking, commenting, sharing, etc.etc. - the new videos will keep coming as always, and i hope you enjoy them!
