Jessica Alba reveals that the sexism she's faced in Hollywood has been 'quite oppressive'
Alba told People how she's experienced sexism through her career.
"I always wanted to be treated the way that I saw men being treated," she said.
She feels men are praised to give opinions while for women it's like "'What? You have an opinion?'"
Jessica Alba is speaking out about the sexism she's faced while rising through the ranks ā both as an actress and a businesswoman.
"I always wanted to be treated the way that I saw men being treated," Alba told People for its cover story this week.
"Men were told, 'Oh, you're really smart' if you have ideas about the character or the story, where for the women it was like, 'What? You have an opinion?'" she continued. "It was like you came off as aggressive where a man just looked really assertive and powerful."
Alba added that in her experiences in Hollywood it was "quite oppressive in a lot of ways when it came to women having an equal standing."

How did Emilia Clarke feel about the producers of Game of Thrones constantly pressuring her to undress on screen?
Hi. Emilia Clarke gained worldwide fame for enjoying the Mother of Dragons a.k.a Daenerys Targaryen on the hit series Game of Thrones. The show is documented for its brilliant scripts (before they stopped trying), amazing CGI, andā¦ nudity. Lots and much of nudity.
Emilia had to try to multiple nude scenes throughout the show, but when she signed the contract after being chosen to play the role, she had no clue she was alleged to get naked on screen.
She stated in an interview on Dax Shepardās Armchair Expert podcast
I took the work then they sent me the scripts and that i was reading them, and I was, like, āOh, thereās the catch!ā. But Iād come fresh from drama school, and that i approached [it] as employment ā if itās within the script, then itās clearly needed.
Going into doing it, i used to be in such another world of like, I'm floating through this first season. I even have no idea what Iām doing. I even have no idea what any of this is often, I even have never been on a movie set like this before. Iād been on a movie set twice before then, and Iām now on a movie set completely naked with all of those people, and that i donāt know what Iām meant to try to do and that i donāt know whatās expected of me, and that i donāt know what you would like and that i donāt know what i would like.
Regardless of whether thereād be nudity or not, i might have spent that first season thinking, Iām undeserving of requiring anything; Iām undeserving of needing anything in the least.
Whatever Iām feeling is wrong; Iām gonna go cry within the bathroom, then Iām gonna come and weāre gonna do the sceneāitās gonna be completely fine. But it had been definitely hard.
Luckily for her, during the primary season, she had to film sex scenes with Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo. He saw how she was handling these particular scenes and told her something that changed her perspective:
It was definitely hard, which is why the scenes once I need to do them with Jason were wonderful. Because he was like, 'No, sweetie, this is not OK.' and that i was like 'Oh.'
He showed her that she could take hold and choose when she should show her body which helped her fight the assembly team who kept on trying to urge her to require her clothes off:
I have had fights onset before once I am like, 'No, sheet stays up.ā and that they are like, 'You donāt want to disappoint your Game of Thrones fans.' and i am like, 'Fuck you.'
Taking off my clothes isn't the simplest thing, but with the magic of the consequences , i do not need to do a season 1 and continue a cliff and roll in the hay . I'm on top of things of it.
And because she was finally on top of things of things , this iconic scene made her feel powerful rather than ashamed:

Is Alexandra Daddario a bad actress, or is she misunderstood?
In my opinion, her looks are a bit of a curse. Sheās a dark haired girl with incredibly striking light gray-blue eyesā¦ this makes her face a bit distracting at first glance. And she has an enormous natural chestā¦ again this is distracting.
The overall effect is ā¦ and Iāll use the word again ā¦ distracting.
I like her and I think sheās a pretty good actress and can be quite funny, but I have only seen her looks used to the full effect once. And that was in a brief cameo in will forteās last man on earth in which he awakens from unconsciousness and sees the unbilled Alexandra looking down at him. It is an impossible idealized beauty that he sees in his mindās eye, because the real person looking down at him is the actress Kristen Schaalā¦ who is a decidedly unidealized beauty with very similar hair and eye coloration. Close second is the way she was used in Itās Always Sunny in Philadelphia as a nice girl who gets dumped by the doofus Charlie. As if.
How can I say this in the politest way possible ā¦Alexandra Daddario is hard to look at. Letās say you like candy and you enjoy a nice gumdrop. Jennifer Lawrence is a gumdrop, pretty but not too much to handle. Alexandra Daddario is two giant pixie sticks snorted up your nose. Itās not that sheās that pretty, itās just that sheās somehow too much to take in at one time. I happen to think that her younger sister Catharine is prettier, but sheās not hard to look at.
UPDATE: At the suggestion of Mr. Foster, I went and checked out some of her Youtube videos. I agree, they are very entertaining, revealing Ms. Daddario to be a very sweet, nice, talented, funny and generally down to earth young woman. Very much the kind of gal youād be proud to bring home to mother. And her disconcerting eyes are on full display. In one, she confesses that she couldnāt get any guys as a teenager. Of this I have no doubtā¦ they couldnāt handle the sugar rush.
UPDATE II: This answer is getting a lot of push back from female commenters who seem to think that Iām making a sexist va-va-va-voomish point about Ms. Daddarioās beauty, which is causing me to fail to appreciate her finer qualities. Quite the contrary, my actual point is that her unusual eyes (and to a lesser extent her unusual shape) are the very things that are tending to blind the public to her finer qualities as an actress and comedienne. I think sheād be better served by toning down the eyes a bit with some colored contacts. But I recognize that the industry sheās in doesnāt always reward elocution as much a sex appeal. I guess everybodyās gotta have a trademark.

Aquaman 2 Starts Filming in July, Confirms Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa has confirmed that Aquaman 2 will begin shooting this summer. Momoa first rose to prominence in his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, but his debut as Arthur Curry in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice began a replacement era for the actor. Momoa reprised his role within the divisive 2017 film Justice League before starring in his first solo DCEU feature in 2018. Directed by James Wan, Aquaman became the foremost successful DCEU film so far , happening to earn over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.
Right now, Aquaman 2 is shrouded in mystery. Alongside Momoa, Amber Heard is returning as Meera, as is Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. it's assumed that Randall Park also will be returning as Dr. Stephen Shin because of his appearance within the post-credits scene of the primary film that saw him team with Black Manta. Willem Dafoe is additionally likely to return as Vulko. Whether or not Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master returns is unclear, but he's currently in an Atlantean prison, so it's possible he, too, could crop up , albeit he's not expected to be the film's big bad.
Luckily, a number of the mystery surrounding the film will soon be cleared up. Momoa confirmed on The Drew Barrymore Show that Aquaman 2 begins filming this July. The actor also revealed that he had a hand in writing the story for the upcoming sequel, pitching it to the studio immediately after the primary film.
By all accounts, it seems like the film is true on schedule. Heard revealed that she was training for Aquaman 2 back in April, indicating that shooting would be happening quite soon. With a release date currently set for December 2022, a summer shoot gives DC many time to form sure the sequel pops without a hitch. Seeing as WB features a lot riding on the film, this is often an honest sign. Aquaman could also be one among the foremost promising solo arms of the DCEU alongside Gal Gadot's woman films.
Now that the franchise is moving past Zack Snyder's Justice League and therefore the SnyderVerse generally , they've begun looking to the longer term . this may not include Wan's horror spinoff the ditch , which was cancelled earlier this year, but the studio does have plenty future for fans regardless.
