Hello everyone. I’ve been really struggling with an awful cough and sore throat this week which is why I haven’t uploaded any new videos. I’ll be back soon, I’m sure.

In the meantime on my Substack I’ve written a post about the Zoom I’ll be doing for our community creative planning sessions as per my monthly planning videos. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with how much you’d like to achieve, if you’re unsure how to start or if you’re simply not feeling confident then you might like to come along. It’s on Sunday 25th February at 4pm GMT which is 11am EST.

This is available for my paid Substack subscribers only but there is complementary access if you need it. More details can be found on my post including how to sign up: helenredfern.substack.com/p/taking-action-on-your-…

Hello all. I just wanted to apologise for not uploading anything this week on YouTube. I’ve come down with a virus and every day I think I’m going to be better and every day I end up hanging out on my settee - paracetamol and Vick vapour rub never far from my hands.

I’ve actually been really bored and incredibly frustrated. I’ve been on such a beautiful roll with my writing and video creating recently. They are both great joys in my life - and without them the days have no magic in them. The days have lost their sparkle.

On a day when I did manage to write something down it was about missing the magic that comes from creating. I can’t help but compare to when I was last languishing on this settee - when I was suffering with burnout - and I didn’t miss the creative process at all.

But now I am. And I’m glad I’m missing it. It shows I’m recovered from burnout. I just wish this virus could disappear too.

Hopefully I’ll be back soon.

Hello. I just wanted to thank you for the support after my return to YouTube. Burnout forced me away but it’s lovely to be back. I’ve honestly had an up and down relationship with this platform but I’m really enjoying creating videos again. And - finally - I’m being consistent. Long may it last!

I’ve decided, alongside writing my book, that I’m going to concentrate on writing my Substack and creating videos. So I thought I’d share some of my latest posts. Most are free to read before they go behind a paywall in October.

My Substack can be found here helenredfern.substack.com

Meanwhile I’ve a video scheduled for tomorrow - 5pm UK time. See you then.

Hello all. I’ve not been creating long form videos recently as I’m emerging from burnout and anxiety. What energy I have right now is being funnelled into my Substack and Shorts.

I didn’t want you to feel neglected though so I thought I’d share where I’m currently creating. You can find me at helenredfern.substack.com.

The images attached show a few things I’m going to be working on this year. I’m particularly excited about the non-fiction book club which I’m going to do in conjunction with this channel.

Hopefully I’ll keep getting stronger every day with a new long form video coming soon. 🧔

If you've seen my latest video you'll know I've been struggling with burnout. It has been a process but I think I'm making progress. In my latest podcast I talk, vulnerably and honestly, about the lessons I learned last year in my writing and mentoring business that ultimately led to the burnout crash. You can listen to it in the usual podcast places or by signing up to my Substack newsletter for free here: open.substack.com/pub/helenredfern/p/9-what-are-th…

I'm hoping to get back into a regular routine with my videos soon. At the moment I'm just taking things slowly. Tiny steps 🐢

Hello and a happy new year!

January finds me not ready to start writing. I feel like the Christmas holidays weren’t long enough. I need more time to be still, to let my mind breathe, to allow ideas to grow - so I haven’t written down any goals, I’ve not created a task board or a vision page in my journal. I haven’t even started a new journal yet for the new year.

If you’re feeling the same then be reassured. There’s no rush. #teamtortoise

My latest video on YouTube explains this in more detail and I share what I have been doing instead of writing. 🧔🧩

A few photographs from today’s video where I chat about the books on my second shelf whilst having a good old sort out.

It looks like my tidying/procrastinating (procrasti-sorting?) is now finished and tomorrow I start planning for what I’d like to achieve during December (spoiler: I’m mainly going to be on YouTube for vlogmas - though I’ve no idea how that’s going to go as yet!)

I’ve got a few ideas for what I’m going to film - though a bit anxious you’ll be fed up of me after 25 days continuous. How much of my desk/office/notebooks/books/dogs/cat can I get away with showing? šŸ˜‚

Yesterday I decided to dig out a bookshelf from the garage and use it to create a display of my hardbacks and other precious books in my office.

I’ve been buying lots of books recently and creating lots of videos about books. And I think it’s to do with being tired from a busy year, the change in the weather and wanting to surround myself with pure comfort.

I hope you enjoy this video I created and it gives you some comfort, too.

I know it’s still a bit early to be mentioning Christmas but I thought I’d get my gift guide videos up before December in the hope it’ll give you ideas for family and friends - or for yourself.

This first video is a gift guide for Agatha Christie fans.

Coming soon: a gift guide for writers and one for readers.
