Hello everyone. Iāve been really struggling with an awful cough and sore throat this week which is why I havenāt uploaded any new videos. Iāll be back soon, Iām sure.
In the meantime on my Substack Iāve written a post about the Zoom Iāll be doing for our community creative planning sessions as per my monthly planning videos. If youāre feeling overwhelmed with how much youād like to achieve, if youāre unsure how to start or if youāre simply not feeling confident then you might like to come along. Itās on Sunday 25th February at 4pm GMT which is 11am EST.
This is available for my paid Substack subscribers only but there is complementary access if you need it. More details can be found on my post including how to sign up: helenredfern.substack.com/p/taking-action-on-your-ā¦

Hello all. I just wanted to apologise for not uploading anything this week on YouTube. Iāve come down with a virus and every day I think Iām going to be better and every day I end up hanging out on my settee - paracetamol and Vick vapour rub never far from my hands.
Iāve actually been really bored and incredibly frustrated. Iāve been on such a beautiful roll with my writing and video creating recently. They are both great joys in my life - and without them the days have no magic in them. The days have lost their sparkle.
On a day when I did manage to write something down it was about missing the magic that comes from creating. I canāt help but compare to when I was last languishing on this settee - when I was suffering with burnout - and I didnāt miss the creative process at all.
But now I am. And Iām glad Iām missing it. It shows Iām recovered from burnout. I just wish this virus could disappear too.
Hopefully Iāll be back soon.

Hello. I just wanted to thank you for the support after my return to YouTube. Burnout forced me away but itās lovely to be back. Iāve honestly had an up and down relationship with this platform but Iām really enjoying creating videos again. And - finally - Iām being consistent. Long may it last!
Iāve decided, alongside writing my book, that Iām going to concentrate on writing my Substack and creating videos. So I thought Iād share some of my latest posts. Most are free to read before they go behind a paywall in October.
My Substack can be found here helenredfern.substack.com
Meanwhile Iāve a video scheduled for tomorrow - 5pm UK time. See you then.

Hello all. Iāve not been creating long form videos recently as Iām emerging from burnout and anxiety. What energy I have right now is being funnelled into my Substack and Shorts.
I didnāt want you to feel neglected though so I thought Iād share where Iām currently creating. You can find me at helenredfern.substack.com.
The images attached show a few things Iām going to be working on this year. Iām particularly excited about the non-fiction book club which Iām going to do in conjunction with this channel.
Hopefully Iāll keep getting stronger every day with a new long form video coming soon. š§”

If you've seen my latest video you'll know I've been struggling with burnout. It has been a process but I think I'm making progress. In my latest podcast I talk, vulnerably and honestly, about the lessons I learned last year in my writing and mentoring business that ultimately led to the burnout crash. You can listen to it in the usual podcast places or by signing up to my Substack newsletter for free here: open.substack.com/pub/helenredfern/p/9-what-are-thā¦
I'm hoping to get back into a regular routine with my videos soon. At the moment I'm just taking things slowly. Tiny steps š¢

Hello and a happy new year!
January finds me not ready to start writing. I feel like the Christmas holidays werenāt long enough. I need more time to be still, to let my mind breathe, to allow ideas to grow - so I havenāt written down any goals, Iāve not created a task board or a vision page in my journal. I havenāt even started a new journal yet for the new year.
If youāre feeling the same then be reassured. Thereās no rush. #teamtortoise
My latest video on YouTube explains this in more detail and I share what I have been doing instead of writing. š§”š§©

A few photographs from todayās video where I chat about the books on my second shelf whilst having a good old sort out.
It looks like my tidying/procrastinating (procrasti-sorting?) is now finished and tomorrow I start planning for what Iād like to achieve during December (spoiler: Iām mainly going to be on YouTube for vlogmas - though Iāve no idea how thatās going to go as yet!)
Iāve got a few ideas for what Iām going to film - though a bit anxious youāll be fed up of me after 25 days continuous. How much of my desk/office/notebooks/books/dogs/cat can I get away with showing? š

Yesterday I decided to dig out a bookshelf from the garage and use it to create a display of my hardbacks and other precious books in my office.
Iāve been buying lots of books recently and creating lots of videos about books. And I think itās to do with being tired from a busy year, the change in the weather and wanting to surround myself with pure comfort.
I hope you enjoy this video I created and it gives you some comfort, too.

I know itās still a bit early to be mentioning Christmas but I thought Iād get my gift guide videos up before December in the hope itāll give you ideas for family and friends - or for yourself.
This first video is a gift guide for Agatha Christie fans.
Coming soon: a gift guide for writers and one for readers.
