99.9% of the world was banned from the Tokyo Olympic Experience — I documented the incredible experience outside the athlete’s bubble in what could be described today as the inglorious summer games: what do you think? Now a distant memory or a forgotten one? https://youtu.be/Sbsyl1i4S8E?si=a6wSS... #olympics watch video on watch page

Coming to Japan for cherry blossom season? *This is the one SAKURA TREE you must visit!* It's over 1,000 years old, starts with a waterfall of pink blossoms, changes to white then millions of pedals fall around you in a 12 day show of nature's most-inspiring beauty. Feudal Lords in the time of Samurai came to visit from far away and in 2024, only 300,000 people will travel here to see it compared to 5 million at Ueno Park over the cherry blossom season. I tell the full story about Mihara town's iconic tree that is a National Monument in Japan. #miharutakizakura #cherryblossom #Japan #三春滝桜 watch video on watch page

I got a message from 92 year old Sasaguchi-san thanking everyone for watching! I’m glad her story could get out and hope to see her and her daughter Tomoko (who wrote an excellent book about Hiroshima) when I return to my *Japan* hometown - where I lived for 2 years many years ago. If haven’t seen the episode yet, bookmark it, check it out and let me know what you thought, felt. Love hearing from you ٩(^‿^)۶ -John

The interview with 92 year old Sasaguchi-san really impacted me. She survived the blast, helped those on the burnt out streets and then went back to work as conductor on the reopened street car line just 72 hours later- incredible! These trams are STILL OPERATING in 2023 too, rolling through the city with a completely different view. It's an entirely new way to experience Hiroshima and a story you will not forget. -John watch video on watch page

August 18-20 Japanese Music Festival with Taiko Percussion group KODO on Sado Island (Niigata) it’s *always* sold out, some tickets remain, camping spots available too! It’s the most amazing time to be on the island if you’re in Japan. See how they train (intense!) and get tickets here: earthcelebration.jp/

Some say this Japanese chicken dish is as satisfying to eat as Kobe Beef. I’d say it’s even better! Miyazaki’s Jidori Chicken Nanban is one of my top 5 must-eat dishes in Japan. New release, let’s travel to eat and find out why 😋🐓 https://youtu.be/pkFUOX82XLE watch video on watch page

Snow-aged Japanese Wagyu Beef is supposed to make the beef even more tender, aged in
“yukimuro” snow cellars in Niigata, but is it really better than say — KOBE BEEF? Here’s the test & story: https://youtu.be/SeUr6jYnmtM #wagyu #onlyinjapan
